I know that people forgetting things about this place when they go home is the norm, but it's been three weeks and I've still only got bits and pieces of what happened last time I was here. It's weird and a little frustrating.

But I'm taking it as a sign to just start fresh and not try to fit things back the way they were. I don't think I could anyways, since my old boss got ported out as far as I can tell. I don't suppose anyone's got any use for someone used to working with technology? Or a gopher, I'm pretty good at doing the whole getting mail and coffee thing. Though I'd definitely prefer doing something with science and engineering over making trips to Starbucks.

In a completely different vein of conversation... Has anyone here or back home actually managed to come up with a fabric that doesn't ever rip when superheroics are being done, or is that something beyond everyone in the known multiverse?

[ there's a little bit of what seems like static when the voice feed turns on. it's really just fabric rustling over the microphone. ]

Oh, Rao. This is not what I wanted to wake up to...

[ looks like lachesis snatched someone right out of bed. there's a pause and then kara makes a small, startled noise as she realizes the comm's on. ]

Um... Hi. Sorry, I'm a little disoriented here. One minute I'm dreaming about griffins taking over Metropolis and then next I'm here with a bad case of déjà vu. I've done the whole alternate universe thing in the past, but it never felt this familiar before. It's... a little weird, honestly.

Oh! I'm Kara, by the way. Anyone know if GoogleMaps works on these things? I'm kind of in need of a Goodwill or Salvation Army. Or a kind stranger who has some clothes other than pajamas they'd let me borrow. I promise to wash them before I give them back.
