Good afternoon, City. It’s been almost a year, hasn’t it? It’s certainly not unwelcome to be back –- I’ve missed numerous people, and if they’re still here, I’d appreciate it if they’d make their presence known.

[Diana's already settled inside her MAC apartment, having arrived earlier that day. She's gone through the communicator records right up to her arrival, but she's not going to be bringing any of that up. It's best to end her return post on a positive note.]

I should introduce myself, since I understand that most of you may not be familiar with me. There are many who know me as Wonder Woman, but please, call me Diana. I've made a lot of friendships here previously, and I do hope to make many more during my current stay.

Fortunately, everything was peaceful back home. [Well, as peaceful as it gets.] Though it seems that the City hasn't fared as well as I have.

Unfortunately not, but you know how it goes here. Thankfully, we'll keep going. We're resilient.

I have no doubt. A lot has changed since I was last here, but I can always count on that.

And I'm sure it's no easy feat to constantly keep them in check, but you somehow manage it.

It might be hard to believe, but there's nothing as eventful as what's been happening here. [ALSO she wants to talk about him and the City so take that.] How is life at City Hall?

[ A slight scowl, he doesn't want to talk about City hall!! ] Oh you know. About as busy as always. There's always something to do.

[I KNOW HOW DARE SHE] I understand that the position you're in is difficult and time-consuming, but I do hope you're letting yourself take a break once in a while.

[Diana looks at him sternly. It's pretty obvious he's lying.] Have you at least tried delegating some of your work?

[ Sheepish! ] A little bit. I'm not that bad.

[OH OKAY she'll let him off the hook. This time.] I might pay you a visit one of these days, if you don't mind.

[ that boyish grin is back ] I think I could pencil you in to my busy schedule.

Oh, an honor for you?? [ laughing. ] Please! I'm just a mayor.

Hardly just a mayor. I'm sure you're a big part of what keeps the City functioning amidst all the crises it goes through.

I'd hope I'd play a part, but please. I have a lot of help. I'm just the guy who gets to mitigate the flack. [ ooooh how modest ]

Sorry, I just watched my City get overrun by invading space aliens, and the fucking Governor was just killed. I'm not sure compliments are the best thing to kick me into gear right now.
