It is the second Sunday of May.

I wonder how many of you can pay tribute to your mothers in this City? Many of you have probably been separated from your mothers. Even those whose mothers have gone cannot even visit their grave. How many mothers have been torn from their children?

Cards not given, flowers unreceived.

[ Pause. ]

No, that's alright. I've seen enough death to last me a lifetime.

There are some that yearn to see more death. Those types are common where I come from.

There's always people who yearn to see death. They are common everywhere.

Unfortunately. And they are the ones most remembered.

The darkest impulses are the most remembered, as they call a part of ourselves we'd rather deny. [ He knows more about this than he cares to admit. ]

That...never goes well. It's the quickest path to self-destruction.

Sometimes who you are is inherently locked into self-destruction. But no one remembers the ones who quietly destroy themselves in the shadows of locked rooms.
