Good afternoon, City. It’s been almost a year, hasn’t it? It’s certainly not unwelcome to be back –- I’ve missed numerous people, and if they’re still here, I’d appreciate it if they’d make their presence known.

[Diana's already settled inside her MAC apartment, having arrived earlier that day. She's gone through the communicator records right up to her arrival, but she's not going to be bringing any of that up. It's best to end her return post on a positive note.]

I should introduce myself, since I understand that most of you may not be familiar with me. There are many who know me as Wonder Woman, but please, call me Diana. I've made a lot of friendships here previously, and I do hope to make many more during my current stay.

Oh, well...I apologize for the intrusion, as I don't believe we've met, but you appear to be familiar with Donna? The two of you bear some resemblance between one another, now that I consider it.

Please don't apologize, I welcome your conversation. [She smiles.] And I'm certainly familiar with Donna -- she's my younger sister.

[Well, at least that's the simplest version of their relationship.

Ah, so it's due to a biological connection between the two of you. Very well, I'm very pleased to meet you, Diana. I'm Kanaya Maryam, I work under her employment.

It's a pleasure, Kanaya. I'm afraid I haven't gotten a chance to talk to my sister as much as I'd like -- what is it that you do for Donna?

Oh, I intern at her magazine! Under the title of Junior Fashion Consultant, my duties are to serve as liaison to our models, assisting in the selection of their outfits and fostering a stable environment for them and the photographers who work to capture the images to be used in our relevant features on the subject.

I, um, occasionally prepare such ensembles of my own design, but not to any excessive degree, of course.

I'm sure it takes an impressive amount of skill to keep individuals of such varying temperaments happy.

[A beat.] Is design your passion? I'd like to see your work sometime, if you don't mind.

Well, if I have any skill within me, it's in capability to serve.

[ oh well passion is pretty much the perfect word ] I have a strong fondness for aesthetics of any variety, though fashion is perhaps the most common expression of the interest.

Donna must think you're very talented, if she asked you to work with her.

[ oh gosh blushing and glowing brighter ] Well, I, uh, imagine her skill is in discerning the dross of my work from that with displays some acceptable level of merit.

In what do your own interests lie, Diana?

I used to be an ambassador to my people back in my world, and I'm extremely passionate about spreading our ideals of love and peace to mankind. [Diana just...really likes helping people.] As for hobbies, I dabble in numerous things. Unfortunately, I haven't found the time to focus on any one thing, but hopefully I'll find some during my stay here.

An ambassador, inferring from the context of your usage, I'm assuming that would be similar to a proselytizer? [ alternian diplomacy basically involves the empress going to a planet and shaking hands to scope the joint out before sending in an invasion force. even if some of these kids have done things closer to the traditional definition, it's still a weird concept to them ]

One might call you something of an eclectic, then?

[She shakes her head.] While I have very different beliefs from most of my home world, I in no way attempt to covert them to my religion. My home is very similar to this one in that there are also wars and crises brought about by misunderstandings and discrimination. The only thing I hope to do is make them realize the merits of love and peace through my example, and by living my life according to what I preach.

So, you serve to present a model of desirable behavior to others through your personal actions? An admirable undertaking.

Thank you, Kanaya. I plan to do something similar here, and hopefully it will help lighten the natives' sentiment towards imPorts. [Especially after the most recent incident.]

Yes, I have heard some difficulties have arisen along those lines more recently. The events of the past number of weeks can only have served to further complicate it.

I won't pretend it isn't slightly worrying, but the problem isn't severe enough that there isn't still a chance to fix it.

[But onto lighter topics:] Do you enjoy working for my sister?

Oh, immensely so! She's very knowledgeable on a variety of topics, and fosters an environment that welcomes and encourages creative expression. I do worry, at times, that I may present too great a burden on her, however, but I do my best to not present any cause for concern.

Nonsense, you probably contribute immensely to the productivity and general atmosphere of your workplace. I do know for a fact that Donna only works with the best.

[ she cannot even handle you, diana, this is too much ]

Perhaps. But she does seem to display some worry that I take such an attitude toward productivity to excessive lengths.

She's might just be expressing concern that you may be overworking yourself. [She probably looks a lot like Donna right now, her expression half-concerned and half-stern.] Which I hope isn't the case.

Well, I, um...it's simply that I enjoy the nature of the work you see, and, uh, I...I would prefer not to disappoint her.

I can't imagine any situation in which you would. [She just sounds so confident!]

Well, I'm not certain it has yet occurred, at least, though I cannot help feeling the threat remains looming overhead. [ especially when the subject turns to the necessity of violence in some matters ]

You have nothing to worry about, especially since those who express the most concern over their actions usually are the most conscientious.

Well, I certainly do offer it my best attempt, but the level of success can be, at times, uncertain.
