001 ϟ video

[Man that whole Darkforce thing messed up Vic really bad. He's really still not sure if he's having weird android dreams and if they are android dreams why aren't there electric sheep hanging around?

Man, this kinda sucks, the whole 'being lost' thing. He thought this was LA first, but there's no buildings like the ones back home. Same for New York.

On the feed is a guy, about 16 years old, with his hair kinda all over the place, and really confused green eyes.]

Uh. Guys. We're not in Kansas anymore, are we?

Oh, hey! Kid Ultron! No, sorry -- it's Victor, isn't it? You run with those kids from LA.

A'right, Vic, let me see if I can give you the rundown. You, and all of us here on this network, have been kidnapped by a rogue, not-nearly-as-friendly-as-you AI of mysterious motivations, whom we refer to as Lachesis, the Porter, "Her," or various other names that I'm not repeating because I have to make a good impression for the kiddies. In any case, she's snatched up a bunch of us from a bunch of different universes, at a bunch of different points in the timeline, and stranded us here until she decides to send us back, which happens at seemingly random intervals. When we go home we go back to the same moment we left, with no memories of being here.

While we're here we get free board and two hundred bucks a week, both accessible with the very fashionable dog tags you should have on you already, and the expectation that we'll use our superpowers for the good of a world that hates and fears us, etcetera, etcetera.

Basically, it's pretty much like home, only quieter.

Questions?

Give the man a gold star for an excellent first question. Yeah, as it happens Lachesis ain't that great in discerning between potential heroes and, uh -- actual supervillains. From our own 'verse we've got Norman Osborn, Doctor Doom, Electro, Bullseye, Deadpool, Loki, Magneto ... the list goes on, and you've gotta figure there are a few who're keeping their heads down instead of blabbing on the network. And that's just from our set of universes.

Unfortunately most of them aren't as good with the obvious signs of Evil Overlorddom as some of our baddies. On the plus side, there're a lot of good eggs here, too -- the Bat-crew and the Justice League, Sherlock Holmes, this sorceror guy named Vivi, a bunch of others. Plus all the heroes from our universe. So it's not as bad as it sounds, really -- actually, it's a lot quieter here than back home, even with the occasional alien invasion.

Well, he's got a scarf instead of a deerstalker and has a certain facility for texting, but yeah.

[Beat, then in a confidential tone:] We also have a Han Solo.

We had a Darth Vader, too, but speaking only for myself I'm just as glad the guy got 'ported out.
incywincyhero: (spidey: so then I said)

He never seemed to do much other than breathe heavily over the network. I coulda missed some spate of Force-choking, though.

No. And I mean, I'm glad ... but it was also kind of a letdown, you know? Maybe that's weird of me.

'Course, I'm pretty sure people are saying the exact same thing about me, so I can hardly complain.

Comics, cartoons, films ... a bunch of us from the same universe were. Don't be surprised if you introduce yourself to a native one day and they recognize you.
