[ It's very hard to mistake Soranik for anyone who's been in the City for any length of time even ignoring the red skin. Her outline glows a bright green and the background of the feed is clearly space - stars and all. After trying to get back to her own sector and finding that it and Oa no longer exist, well, she's out of options for the time being. ]

My name is Doctor Soranik Natu, Green Lantern of Space Sector 1417. If those words are familiar to anyone - I want to speak with you.

[ Her determined expression falls as she rubs her temples - the past few hours have been exhausting, to say the least. And she really needs to catch up on a few hours of sleep. ]

I don't have time for this, but it doesn't take much to guess everyone who arrives here shares the sentiment at the beginning. The brochures were sufficient in overview but lacking in any sort of depth - anyone willing to expand upon them would be appreciated. [ A pause. ] And since I'm going to be stuck here, I'm going to need a job. Preferably as a neurosurgeon, but general medicine will be acceptable.

[ So she's a workaholic - some things don't change. There's one more thing to be addressed, however. ]

And whoever drew this [ Panning the video feed showing the giant dick drawn on the surface of the moon. It's new to her, and also hard to ignore if you're floating around in space. ] I'm sure you've already been congratulated on clever you are.

There was an Import clinic, if I'm not mistaken. Though I believe it was entirely volunteer based, so I'm not sure what good it will do for actual employment.

[He pauses, looking politely thoughtful about his next question.] Wouldn't the differences in physiology, however subtle, make things difficult?

The work is the important part. But I've already been contacted by the head surgeon.

[ That's a question she expected, at any rate. ]

I have experience operating on no small number of species - humanoid and otherwise. My ring can help compensate for any gaps.

Your ring. [His tone isn't incredulous or doubting, or even confused. Rather, it's passive, as if he expects it to prompt a further explanation.]

[ Holds up her right hand - the green ring clear. ]

It's called a power ring. [ A pause as she considers how to explain it. ] Whatever I can imagine, it can create. I can call up information on most anything and it continually translates for me. It does much more, but those are the more commonly used features.

Are you sure it will work in the same way here? Many people's powers don't and I'd hate for you to be performing surgery only to get an unpleasant surprise.

I'd like to do a few more tests before coming to any definite conclusions, yes. So far the results have indicated no change.

[ Considering she's in space just fine. ]

Well, that certainly makes things easier for you, or so I'd imagine. Though I confess a certain degree of incredulity that you think a magic ring would be a suitable substitute for actual medical knowledge.

[ Visibly bristling at that. ]

The ring is simply a tool. As the best surgeon on my planet before it was ever in my possession, I do not doubt my ability to wield it effectively.

None have taken issue with my methods so far.

I suppose malpractice legislation isn't so sophisticated on other worlds.

I save lives, and am capable of it with or without this ring. You know nothing of my planet or its practices - and until you do, I'd ask that you don't insult it. [ Getting close to losing her temper at someone is probably not doing her any favors. ] No one is forcing you have surgery under my knife, but I will not let anyone suffer simply because you do not agree with my methods.

That wasn't an insult, my dear. [He smiles. It doesn't quite reach his eyes and has the same purposefully passive quality to it.] Actually, I'd be incredibly surprised if you could find a doctor who'd be opposed to making it more difficult for a patient to sue for human error, but then, it does take all types.

Doctor Natu, for I am certainly not your dear. [ That coupled with the smile does nothing to put her at ease. ] Most of who I treat now are simply grateful that they are still among the living. I doubt compensation for perceived errors on my behalf are among their top priorities after surgery.

You'd be surprised at the gaul of some people, Doctor.

[He maintains the same pleasantly passive sort of expression, but there really isn't much more to be said. Clearly this woman just wasn't one for small talk. How very sad.]

I suppose I should introduce myself. After all, it's very likely that we'll be seeing each other in the future. Doctor Stephen Strange. A very very long time ago, I was a neurologist.

[ Not when she feels she's been slighted, at any rate. ]

Doctor Strange. [ Really? ] I suppose we will, yes - it seems that there's very few around here with that specialization. But may I ask what made you stop?

[ She doesn't expect an answer. ]

[He raises them so that they're within the camera's view, bending and flexing his fingers quickly as if to make them somehow more visible. He's wearing simple black leather gloves despite the fact that he seems to be inside. It's a slightly eccentric addition to the rather plain looking turtleneck and blazer.]

I was in an accident which damaged my nerves beyond repair. It was a traumatic incident, as you might imagine, and it prevented me from continuing my practice.

[ It is odd, but upon explanation there's a slightly more sympathetic element to her glance. ]

I can imagine, yes. [ She's not quite sure which she'd rather - loser her hands or have them damaged so she could never practice again. ] The recovery must have been long.

Oh, it was non-existent. Barring magical intervention my hands were useless prior to my arrival here.

... Most people, when they arrive, are granted powers if they didn't have them before. I had the use of my hands restored. I'm more or less content with the arrangement.

I do not suppose you know how, exactly? [ Because it would be useful to know if there's any way to replicate whatever happened to him. ] Though I can understand why you would be relieved to have their use returned to you.
