Oof, my dear City, you weren't lying when you mentioned repeatedly how such strange things have a habit of happening without warning! Not that I doubted it, after arriving, but one really has to see these things with their own eyes to understand, and understand I do. Or rather, I think I do.
I haven't been here long enough to know, but I am thinking that keeping some connections to our lives before must help, hm? Such little things like--celebrating a holiday. For a few moments, it might feel like we're not even here. Or do you suppose that letting go of all of it for something new is a better coping mechanism? I'd love to hear all about it.
Oh--and James, no need to fret and fuss and worry so! I should hope the city will never tire of me so quickly.

If you want to meet, all you have to do is ask, you know. I make my own hours and can leave whenever I like. [Usually without a word to her crew, whoops?]

Oof, that boyfriend of yours is going to make such a fuss. Maybe you should leave him at home.
no subject
[Her shrug is practically audible.] We don't live together and he doesn't work with me, so that isn't a problem. Beside that, he knows he can trust me -- and my hands -- not to wander. Too much, anyway.

You'll probably find it's not your hands he'll worry about, but I can promise, Miss Zatara, that I can be a perfect gentleman.
Shall we have a drink, then? Dinner? Lunch? A chance meeting in the park with none of the trappings of wining and dining?
no subject
No, no. One should always worry about my hands, I'm afraid. I am a magician, after all. [A beat.] Zatanna is fine. Ms. Zatara is for business meetings and scuzzballs.
A chance meeting at a frozen yogurt place might just be fine with me.

Frozen yogurt with Zatanna it is, then. Perhaps you'll conjure up a few delightful flavours to try~

[She rolls her eyes and you might even be able to hear it, if you try hard enough!] If I'm conjuring, I'm not paying.
Just name a day and a time.
