Dr. Mid-Nite. I am Aaron Grey, and I recall a friend of mind, Edward Dalton, had been accepted to your clinic as a physician some time ago, but I am unable to locate him. I assume he has been ported out of the City, and would like to request your assistance in two matters of personal urgency. I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Greetings, Mr. Grey. I hope I can be of some help. What's the trouble?

Dr. Dalton was an acquaintance of mine, through the fact that we had somewhat similar physiologies.

He had reverse engineered a substitute for me that I require. He provided me enough to last for a while, but I'm nearly out. If his notes are still around, it should make things much faster without having to reverse engineer the substitute again.

I also have a friend of a similar nature who requires donated blood.

I'm afraid I have to report that Dr. Dalton has been ported out of the city, although his notes have been collected and are currently in storage. They are retrievable enough, and if his work is necessary to keep the vampiric urges at bay, I can certainly look through them and try to develop more of this substitute.

Do you mean to imply that your friend can't use this serum the way you can?

I gained the impression that was the situation surrounding his disappearance.

If their form of vampirism is anything like Dr. Dalton's, then it's unlikely it will work. He was attempting to adapt it to his own needs, but hadn't succeeded as of our last conversation.

I see. Would you and your friend be willing to let me examine you so as to better focus my efforts in refining the serum?

I would. I'll have to get the other's consent, but I'll see if they'll allow it.

Understood. Just let me know what your friend says, and when you might be available, and I'll start searching through Dr. Dalton's notes. If I can get a small sample of what you're currently using, it would be extremely helpful as well.

I have a sample left from the last batch. I'll be available later tomorrow or the day after, whichever is convenient. I should have a reply back before then from the other.

The day after would be better for me, but if you're dangerously low on supply, I can rearrange some things.

[ooc: I'm cool with a handwave. Just so I'm sure how it turns out - he can make the serum for Grey but not for Seras, presumably due to differing physiologies of some sort? Or is there a more specific reason?]

[Handwave it is. All the above is right, the serum works only for Grey due to physiological differences, and also that Seras depends partly on the 'soul' aspect that blood represents (this is according to Seras-mun).]
