-stand what the hell you are. [Surprise, the comm clicks on in mid recording. There's a small pause. It's obvious that Daniel does not know just how the hell this thing works. He's still in the age of tape recorders and landline phones, this level of technology confuses him to no end.]
So what is this, some kind of recording device? A tiny little cassette? [No, that sounded stupid. Another pause.]
Right, if this is a recording device, then here's for posterity's sake. I have no idea how I got here, how this machine pulled me here from home, and why this wants me to be a hero. You've got the wrong guy. I'm the least heroic person I know. So just send me home, back to Ar-back to someone who's waiting for me and I won't tell anybody about this. I won't sue, I won't write about it, I won't tell the cops, I'll just pretend this never existed, alright?
[There's a pause and some fiddling. Daniel's obviously trying to turn the comm off, muttering to himself as he does so.]
Pretending things never existed. Yeah, I've got some experience in that-
[And it goes off!]
