[WHAT? WHAT? WHO IS THIS ON YOUR COMMUNICATORS? Why, it is the Mother of squirrels herself! Standing in a kitchen, handpaws on her hips. And boy, does she look fit to be tied.]
I did not sign up for that auction. I would not leave Father Squirrel, even if he is not here.
[She holds her head up high.]
But if I am in it, I shall take responsibility for myself. That is the proper thing to do.
[The camera is turned to a neatly-decorated table spread with all kinds of cakes, pastries, baked potatoes, salads, home-made bread, casseroles, candied nuts, and so on. There's even a meat dish, though she seems to be eyeing it with a minor amount of distaste.]
I will not return romantic gestures. I am married, and a mother. [And you are all humans! She can't say that, though. It'd be rude.] That would be wrong.
If a person bids for one of these dates with me, I will treat the winner to a fine, healthy dinner and--[She has to think. What else do modern people do? She's still not sure, so she picks up something she remembers her children enjoying.]--a picture show. They will not have to cook or clean. I will do all of that myself.
That is a fair prize, I think.
