[Rose is looking completely out of sorts. Today, she decided to go shopping. It has been a trying day.
Kanaya is in Space for some reason. Shopping has been a disaster and now Rose is fairly sure she can hear screaming from someone who sounds suspiciously like Karkat.
She is so done.
She takes a deep breath and forces the most obviously fake smile onto her face that she can muster. Her tone lacks anything resembling anything remotely genuine. ]
What a completely wonderful day it is today. Kanaya is in Space, for anyone who missed that. Stuck there, too. Absolutely delightful. We should all congratulate her on finally becoming one with her aspect.
[A pause. ] Shopping went swimmingly, too. Imagine my complete and utter surprise when I discovered that the staff of every store I visited were all so completely helpful.
[And an exhale. It is a long one. Rose has had a tough week; she thinks this really shitty day may be her breaking point. ]
Karkat, if that is you that I can hear screaming in the distance, I would very much like it if you would kindly shut up. If anyone happens to have any aspirin and is near my immediate vicinity, I would be very grateful for the chance to get rid of this persistent headache. Dave, this is not a chance for you to make a stranger joke.

Mr. Makara, it is with my sincerest apologies that I am sending you this message. I will be attaching directions to this. I must ask that you pick Karkat up. He is presently curled up on the sidewalk, whimpering like a puppy who has been beaten to its mothers teat. Before you make any assumptions, I should inform you that his black eye was welcomed as was the bitemarks on his arm. He has made a mess of my shoulder, which is why I cannot help myself. I think I may need stitches, so when he stops writhing please tell him I said thank you. Give him my fondest, black regards too while you're at it.
If you could also inform him that if he wishes to incite another scuffle with me, he will have to buy me dinner before he even thinks of getting a cheap shot at my chest again.
I would also like the chance to apologize in person, but I think perhaps he will need a day to cool down.

but between feeling miserable up here and everything falling apart down there, his open hostility is just enough to snap the slim thread her patience has been hanging on. she'll show him exactly why she can't get herself back.
there's fifteen minutes of silence after his last message when suddenly the ceiling of his room disappears, the edges around it glowing green as it gives way to a field of stars, a rare sight in the city. one star in the center shone brighter than the rest, its light searing painfully. oh, nevermind, that's just kanaya.
the look on her face is a terror to behold, the murder in her eyes, though he'd hardly have any time to notice it, because as soon as the ceiling is open, the oxygen begins sucking out of the room and all of the equipment shakes and threatens to pick up from the floor and through it.
luckily for him, the portal snaps shut instantly, before anything does get pulled out into space. the room may be left in some disarray, but nothing that couldn't be explained by its occupancy by an explosively moody telekinetic.
moments after it does close, he finally receives a reply: ]

When Kanaya wants to prove a point, she seriously wants to prove a point. The ceiling opens, and his instinct towards self preservation makes Julian's powers kick in. His shield forms itself to his body, just like it did when he found himself in space with Laura. The feeling is tight and uncomfortable, sealing a portion of air around his body and keeping him from floating into the vacuum.
He can see Kanaya there, though, stuck just like she said. The irony is, if she'd held it open longer and he could have reached her, he might have been able to shield her too and let them both teleport. But whatever. Let her be stuck.
Even after the hole's closed, his powers stay on for a second. They vanish when he notices what she's done to the room, and swears colorfully while the shield blinks out. ]
Fine. Whatever the fuck you say, stay there. Be someone's satellite for all I care. You look so much better from a distance.
