Hello everyone. My name is Lenalee Lee.

[ Her smile relaxes some as she holds up the pamphlets that the Porter gave to her. Her face looks a bit confused but she’s still trying to keep a smile since she is addressing strangers! ]

I don’t think I understand what’s happening here. I’ve looked through the pamphlets, but it’s still very strange to me.

We were brought here… to help with something?

[ She considers this now. ]

I can help, then. So long as I can go home soon as well. I was in the middle of some important things back home. I shouldn’t be gone for too long. [ She hasn’t figured out that time doesn’t pass the same way here. ] But if I’m here… I can help! I’ll work to the best of my abilities to help until I can go home!

[ She smiles again. ]

If someone could direct me to where I need to be and who I need to report to, that would be very helpful. [ Someone’s too used to taking orders…

She gives a bow to the camera. ] Thank you for your time!

In a soft English accent: ]

It's a somewhat long and complicated story. The Porter, the machine that brought you here, its intention is to bring "heroes" into this world.

[ She's surprised by this. ]

Does it think I'm a hero, then? [ Being an Exorcist wasn't the same as being a hero... ]

Something like that... but it's for the best not to read too much into it. The machine brings children and criminals from other worlds. It's not a perfected machine.

Criminals and children as well?

[ Oh that's not good. She wonders if anyone else she knows is here... and hopes some others she knows aren't if this machine can do both. ]

Why does it do that? Want heroes and bring in everyone?

[ He rubs the side of his head and sighs. ]

It has something to do with the law enforcement of this city. A few years ago, many police officers disappeared without a trace.

I suppose around that time the machine was revealed.

[ No police and lots of heroes. Makes sense. She softens and gives a nod of her help. ]

Then we're supposed to help this city?

It's what the machine wants, but it's not necessary.

[ She shakes her head and offers a bright smile. ]

If that's what it needs. I don't mind helping until I have to go home.

[ Visibly surprised by that. ]

You don't?

I'm usually asked to help. I like to make myself useful. [ And well she did just get these new boots. It'd be terrible to waste them. ]

[ He pauses. ]

It's actually a dangerous job. It wants us to do something about the crime in the City. [ Even though a lot of the imPorts cause trouble. ]

The Porter even bestows powers onto the imPorts it brings in.

[ Huh. She didn't get any powers... ]

Does it do that if we already have powers? [ If so she was skipped! ]

I'm not entirely certain. It's a powerful machine and has been able to tamper with the powers of others before.

[ Tamper... She looks down at something out of frame. ]

I hope it hasn't changed mine. I need mine as it is, no matter what this place wants.

[ Oh, he knows that look well enough. He doesn't want to upset a lady. ]

It's not something that happens often, I believe. So... I'm sure it must be fine.

[ She looks back up at that in surprised, then smiles since he was kind enough to try to reassure her. The least she can do is hide the concern. ]

[ Looks curious now. ]

[ He hates this part, so his expression is a little grim. ]

You won't be able to return home. Not until the Porter decides to send you back.

[ She tenses, every time she hears this news, then nods her head a little stiffly. ]

Another kind man told me this. [ Saddens a little. ] I don't suppose there's any use in being sad over something that we can't change. [ Not anymore. ]

[ Uh oh, he really hopes he did not upset her too much. ]

[ Funny though; in her ~~shoes~~ boots, he'd most likely say the same thing. Just to hide his own worries. ]

Time has "stopped" from wherever the Porter pulled you from, so your friends and family won't notice.

But it's fine to feel sad over it, I think.

[ She looks surprised, a little cheered up now. ]

Then things won't continue to happen there without me? The other man wasn't entirely sure.

As long as everyone at home is safe until I return, then I'll be happy.

I don't understand it completely myself... but it's true. The flow of time here is much different than the ones back home.

I'll take your word for it. [ She smiles at him, a mostly genuine smile. ]
