Why would you automatically assume Spencer'll be

If it's closer to my position when I decide to call it a night I'll do so.

Then the civilians will just have a bunch of re-rotting corpse of their once police force to protect them, and I think the burglars, murderers and psychotic clowns would catch on quick, honey.
