Six. [ video ]
[ Video opens on Monet, deftly mixing a martini at a modern looking bar. Those who have been there before will notice that it's her bar, but otherwise her location is untraceable.
Of note, she's is using only her right hand, as the left is currently casted and slung across her midsection. However, she barely seems to notice the handicap as she swirls cold vermouth in the glass, discards it, and spears two olives. ]
How odd this city is. First, it chooses, seemingly at random, people from varying timelines and universes, calls them heroes, and expects them to defend the city. From who or what, exactly, is interesting, as objective data is currently leading to the conclusion that there is no rhyme or reason to the process, and there seems to be no exclusion criteria. If the porter were so interested in the defense of the city, why would it take criminals? Villains? Civilians?
Now, once again, the porter's objectives are in question. Why ever would it decide to take the heroes it so painstakingly chose to come to defend the city and replace them with dangerous, insane and/or useless versions of themselves? No logical conclusion can be drawn at this time, though after a few martinis, perhaps the solution will become clear.
[ Monet pours an expensive-looking gin into a shaker, and, after shaking and straining, drops the olives and gin into a martini glass. After taking an experimental sip, she deems her drink a great success. ]
Also, Rachel Grey is a dinosaur. How did that happen?

Wha-- I leave you for two seconds and you're drinking?
Is that the reason you refused pain killers? [ He sighs and places his forehead in his hand. ]
Of course it is... what am I saying. [ He laments to himself. ]

[voice] God Santo what are you even
Rachel got swapped out with a version of her...from a world where all the X-Men are dinosaurs!
I dunno if that means all people are dinosaurs, or if being a mutant on Earth-Saurus automatically makes you scaly. Either way, I'm pretty sure this is what happened.
I just hope dino-me's codename is Bedrock. That would be freakin' hilarious.
Oh, God, I'm LOL'ing so hard...

As for me, I don't particularly like being treated like a puppet with someone else pulling the strings. Are you content to just live this way forever?
