I'm opening this up to everybody on the imPort force to get a read on where we stand. Just talkin' here, nothing official, nothing I'm gonna hold anybody to, all right? No badges or ranks for this.

I'm sure we all heard it when the Porter bitch told us that we're not supposed to be her personal army, but we're supposed to step up to the plate here with this HIVE mess. I know we all hate that grinnin' bitch for yankin' us here and playin' around with our lives, but the party line's always been that we're here to help. The fact that most of us have ridiculous fuckin' super powers probably means we're supposed to help the whole country and not just this one town.

Yeah, we're all breakin' our backs tryin' to cover the cop needs in this town with the handful of us and the few thousand misfits and badge-sniffers we've got shoring up the native side of the force, but the whole city of Los Angeles just pretty much declared war on America, and that might go for the rest of California, too, who knows? There was a time I'd have been all in favor of wiping LA off the map, but times have changed.

So I'm throwin' this out there for us to talk about, because I sure as hell don't know which way to turn on it. Do you think we SHOULD marshal up every last one of us freaks, including the whole police force and every one of those super teams and maybe even some of the assholes in lockup, and just head out there and put an end to that fucking place before they figure out how to dupe the porter and start bringing in their own heavyweight motherfuckers to shit in our corn flakes? I mean, Jesus Christ, look at some of you guys and the fucking impossible shit you can do. Maybe all this jurisdictional shit doesn't need to apply right now.

Maybe the sooner we bring that asshole mayor and his giant pack of psychos down, the sooner we can all go home, huh?

Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me I'm nuts. Tell me what you want. Whatever. I just figure this is something huge and everybody oughta weigh in on it, 'cause I'm sure as hell not the smartest guy in the room.

I'm a policeman, not a soldier. If those bastards are going to march on our City, then I'll fight. But I'm not abandoning my post here for something that the government should be able to take care of itself, especially when douchebags like Joker are up to something and could very easily use the distraction to their advantage. If others feel like they have to take it upon themselves to arm up and go fight LA outside of governmental approval, like that idiot Cable and his mouthy wonder, there isn't much I can do about it.

And yeah, I'm a cop, too, but I've had to pull some intense shit sometimes when I was way out of my jurisdiction in order to stop some seriously evil bullshit from happening. Don't get me started on why I hate going to D.C.

I think, if anyone does want to help with the situation in California, it should be done separately from the department. It's reasonable enough to grant time away to those willing to go, but we can't empty the city. It'd leave the Porter exposed, along with the remaining population. Drawing the majority of our population out to California might be the very opportunity they're waiting for.

I'm not saying their threat is a bluff, but if most of the imPort population leaves to take care of the HIVE, any task force aimed at the City or the Porter would have an improved chance of success.

Once I've had a chance to get the team I've been working on together, this sounds like it would make an ideal assignment for us.

Even if it is locationally outside our jurisdiction now, how long will it be before we are under attack as well? At the very least, it might be wise to try to send in a few people undercover to investigate.

Hell, I was a delivery boy back home. I never had any kind of police experience before here, but when I got the powers I got figuratively and literally trapped in a box. Couldn't do much about getting out of it, but I got to help out people stuck in it with me then and there. So I'm going with Lassiter, here. We gotta help out the people here.

Much as I'd wanna give a hand, but that's a whole other sack of crap.

The man's an obvious threat to us - the entire affair is a damn time bomb just waiting to blow up in our faces. We can't ignore or abandon the people here, but if we try to leave well enough alone on that front, there's no telling when it'll come back to bite us. We need to deal with it somehow, whether that's setting up some of the more justice-inclined teams with temporary marshal authority or making a discreet attack on the bastard himself.

Personally, I'm more inclined to the second option.

I can't say I haven't done some...incredibly illegal things before, but that's because of politicians - sometimes you have to do things another star system away from your jurisdiction to prevent quadrillions of lives from being exterminated. [Pause.] Or just us, or the city. Anyway, the point still stands. I'm all in favor of taking action, but I won't contest any other decisions the higher ups make here.

I think it's definitely something that should concern us, sir, regardless of whatever jurisdictional crap anybody tries to throw at us. What happened in Washington was a sideshow, their true target has always been the Porter. But I don't know what the best way to go about bringing them down would be. We just saw an infiltration fail, and there was a massive strike in August that doesn't seem to have made much of an impact either. Mayor Ellis seems to think he has nothing to fear from the government itself, which means he's either insane, or that they have something up their sleeves.

Sir, I think our best option right now is to talk to Cable's team as soon as possible, assuming that the HIVE doesn't execute them. Maybe they found something out about their defenses before they were taken down.

Our official stance must be that we will protect the people of this City. I'm not going to leave because it will send the message to the hundreds of thousands of people without the ability to fly and knock down walls with their bare hands or whatever that the ImPorts really don't care. And with everything as tense and divided as it is, that's the last message we want to send.
