45th Scream [text]
So, I've been reading recently on this human movement called Transhumanism. The basic idea behind it seems to be that humans should use science and technology to improve themselves and their condition, and it's being treated as this big new thing, this radical new idea, and half of you people are vehemently against it.
I don't understand why, though. I mean, my people have used technology to improve ourselves for eons. Converting one's body into a different form is considered easy - though, I must admit, the species switch was jarring. Still. Why are so many of you against the idea of living longer or better? Of eliminating disease?
Though I'm not sure how it applies to the population that reads this network. Perhaps you're all different. So, citizens, heroes, villains, etc, what are your thoughts on transhumanism?
Private/Encrypted to Sentinel Prime
Sentinel... I have a favor to ask.

All of you. Report in. Shockwave, what the frag is going on with you? Slipstream, any... anything?
... anyone?
Private to Slipstream
Slipstream, my dear.
Would you be opposed to a dinner date?

I'm working on a project. A relatively large project, one with quite a bit of potential. The problem is... some of the materials I will need for it are quite illegal, and at least questionable. Things like uranium. Things that are quite dangerous.
I assure you, I have no hostile intentions and what I'm developing is... I'm trying to change, Sentinel. To do something right.
But to do this, it would be very nice if the police weren't doing anything pesky like investigating me.

I need to synthesize certain qualities of energon, Sentinel. Among the things I'm going to use it for are keeping these bodies of ours running. Need I remind you that I'm the only source of that substance? While I could keep draining the power grid, I think you'd rather I not waste your city's tax dollars.

[Private/encrypted]
You know...
I can't actually explain what I'm doing fully now, but I think you may be interested to know at a later date. Perhaps.
[Private/encrypted]
[Really could care less, as long as there's energon available.]

[deep breath]
But seriously, what do you think of the idea? Using technology to improve humans.

Seriously, I'm the wrong guy to ask about -isms. They're all bogus in some way.

[long pause]
...
Actually...
...
That... is an interesting point.

Well, I never heard of it before now, though... to me? My body's only one third of who I am.
Although I really don't have much of an opinion on it one way or another.

HE IS FINE.
[And giving me a lot of attention.]

[Shut up, you're attractive. Now let me wear your shades.]
// and now encrypted to Shockwave and Soundwave
[okay well, both his seconds are crazy people. Might as well accept it]
... right then.
I... there's something we should discuss. Well, rather, I think we've discussed it before? ... bah, well, I can tell you the plan again!
// WavesScream Filter
I'm listening.
// WavesScream Filter. FUCK LIFE THIS TOOk TOO LONG TO REPLY TO...
You no doubt recall the files on my computer labeled, I believe, 'Project Genesis'. Concerning a Vector Sigma node..? We discussed it somewhat, namely the difficulty of creating such a thing, and alternate energy sources to power it so that we need only one spark...?
Well. I took your advice, re-did the calculations, and I've begun ordering parts for its construction. I've also begun building an army, making plans...
But I'll need your help. And Soundwave, and Slipstream as well...
And, I believe, I'll be able to coerce Sentinel Prime into aiding us. It will be difficult, but not impossible, for us to sway him to our cause. The main key is going to be no deaths, save one. Just the one necessary sacrifice to power the device...
Shockwave, I think I've done it this time. I think... I can bring home back.
// WavesScream Filter. IT'S OKAY BB
[Long LONG pause.]
You are completely psychotic! Do you realize what the ramifications will be for us all, if this fails?! And just which one of us are you planning on using? How can you be certain your calculations are correct now? And bringing back home without the other imPorts intervening will be difficult enough on its own!
...
[Sigh.]
You have my assistance.
// WavesScream Filter. SLOOOWWW MOTIONNN THREAAAAAAAD
...
but success, Shockwave... think of that!
2. Waspinator
3. They were very carefully done, and I'd like you to check my work.
4. Yes, I'm aware, hence the robot army bit.
5. Excellent. And... well, Soundwave, what of you?
[HAVE SOME FILES SHOCKWAVE]
// WavesScream Filter. THREAD OF SLOW
...Waspinator. [He doesn't want to say much on that topic.]
This army of yours had better be amazing.
[READING THE FILES NOW.]
Re: // WavesScream Filter. THREAD OF SLOW
Come now. Is there any one else we can spare? Ravage has the wrong sort of spark, and the Autobots would be even more difficult to capture. Waspinator is the logical choice.
It will suffice. I'm... open to suggestions on how to improve it.
// WavesScream Filter
Soundwave would kill you even if Ravage had the correct spark. And the Autobots... hnn, you are right, he is the logical choice. [But he's not going to be happy about it.]
What have you done for your little army so far?
[Decepticon filter]
[Private]
..Except that we should really go see the Blue Angels. According to their online schedule they're not coming particularly close to the City for awhile, but they'll be in Florida on July 10th. Interested?
I wouldn't be opposed to a dinner date, depending on where or what you have in mind.
[private] ironically july 10 is when i have a huge event at work :3
And we could also do dinner.
[private]
[private]
There's also a... project I'll need to talk to you about soon. But... well.
...
I'll save it for then.
[private]
[Remembering what she read in his notes and stuff when he was gone.]
Color me interested, Starscream.
[private] argh why am i so slow. AND DO WE WANT TO LOG THE DATE?
[private] Yesss but sometime after this coming weekend as I am flailing to get ready for con.
[private] sounds good to me :3
I found a way to do that. And with only one death, just one, and from that...
From that, we have home. Home, reborn here; home... and ours to rule.
[private] yaaay.
But of course, the network isn't secure enough for that talk. I'll have to satisfy myself with waiting to hear it all in the metal, so to speak.
