§ 029.

[scatty is looking... actually, very mildly distressed. but trying to hide it. she's standing in her dojo, leaning against the wall. trying to look thoughtful instead. she runs a hand through her cropped red hair.]

What determines if someone is to be considered... old nowadays? Their looks or their actual age?

[pause.]

This is out of curiosity, of course.

Well, if they're like... a million years old? That's old.

Then when were you born?

[identity profile] lyingbrat.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
How they look, I think. Or how they think of themselves?

Young... Early twenties at the oldest.

I'm thinking it's the thoughts and actions that shows the outer age to be more apparent, but that's just my opinion. But from the two options, they seem nearly relative in comparison. Looks can betray the age or they can lie about it.

Huh, well that all depends on the goal.

*no idea what possessed him to look at this thing - he's not very well lit, thanks to being beside a small campfire at the moment*

Looks can be deceiving.

Age is how you act?

[identity profile] temporaltossed.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Why are you asking - did someone say something?

You're only as old as you feel!
foreverbouncing: (Aw it was nothin'...)

Weeeeeell...uhm. Pick the one you feel the most, I guess?

[identity profile] thing4telepaths.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
What kind of question is that?

[identity profile] thing4telepaths.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
It depends on a lot of factors.

Around the time people younger than you are growing up, and you can look at them and think, with complete confidence and sincerity, that they are the stupidest little pricks you have ever met, and you were surely never that stupid when you were that age?

That's when you're old.

Neither. It's what you've done that makes you old.
