[01]- Arrival [VIDEO]
[The video flickers on and shows a woman with curly brown hair and she is clearly upset and a little bit in shock from her arrival. Such a big change so quickly is a little traumatic for her and she'd like to get to the bottom of it. She's incredibly shy, though so it takes her a while. She fidgets with the sling on her arm and takes a few deep breaths before she finally gathers her thoughts enough to speak her mind.]
Hello. I am...My name is Bennett Halverson and I...I'm from Washington, D.C. Which this clearly is not.
This place is...unfamiliar and whatever that machine says, I'm not a hero. Not a hero. I'm not super, not really.
[She sighs and finds it hard to look at the camera. Even though she just admitted she's not a hero, it should be pretty obvious she's not really a villain either.]
And...I have a job. A very, very important job back home, highly specialized and I can't miss work. There's things I need to accomplish. Things that need to be done. And only I can do them. Well, that's not true, I'm sure there's plenty but I enjoy my work and I like to keep busy with it so I...
[It takes her a lot of courage to say the next line so she visibly stiffens a little. She tries to make herself look a little more intimidating but that's sort of hard for a super nerd with a dead arm.]
It would be...highly advised that someone show me the way to get back home. Immediate action would be preferable.
[Bennett makes a slightly panicked look before she quickly shuts off the video. She's fairly certain she just made an ass of herself and is going to get herself murdered now. Thank you, paranoia!]

This is going to sound awfully crazy but I don't know how else to say it: you've been taken by a superpowerful computer into an alternate dimension. This place is where New York City is, but it's just called the City, and it's the year 2010. If it wasn't where you were. I... ah... know that's a lot to take in... [fumbles helplessly]

There is a Washington D.C. here. It is not likely the one you are looking for.

You ARE a girl! Not that there was any question on your part, but I kind of always thought you were a-- You know what that doesn't matter.
So, uh, here you are, The City. No way home by the way and I can understand your frustration, but! But there is work. With me. Not like boring assistant work, but real work just like home. We would work. Together. Co-workers even!
Sorry, can I just say I'm a big fan of your papers? I mean some of your ideas are just *amazing* and that's coming from me!
OH! I'm Topher Brink. We haven't met, or maybe we have, but not here and not back home. Yet. I've been told we meet in my future, but that was by a crazy Doll so maybe we don't.
I really hope we do!
