[The inside of the Porter's room can be seen, but the one holding it can't be seen yet.]

[The voice is distinctly Ichigo's, but it sounds unnatural and reverberates just like Shiro's voice does. When he finally notices the camera, he turns it to his face, which is covered up by an unnaturally shaped skull mask with red lines along the side.

After a moment, he reaches up and pulls off the mask, which dissolves into a black energy then fades away. When he speaks again, it's in his natural voice.]

This damn machine has the worst timing!

[He's quiet for a long time. He hasn't left the building or moved. He's just leaning against the wall. He sounds a bit defeated.] How long have I been gone?

I know, but I hate the suspense of not knowing what will happen when I get back.

[He wouldn't though. Yusuke is his bro.] Yeah, it tends to scare people. [He made himself a little sad there.]

[A beat, then he switches this to private.]

You do? Heh, it scared Inoue the last time I wore it in front of her... It's Shiro's power really, but i can control it by using that mask, but when I'm here, I can only use it when he lets me.

There's worse spots to be. I mean, here sucks, but you know, it's better than some of places I've been.

Yeah. I got a thing...kinda like that. So it's like, a thing you guys share? You train with it or...?

I guess you can look at it like we're sharing, inf the City at least. Back home, it's completely under my control, and I just use his power. Here, he has to willingly let me use it, and we kind of... Fight as one, I guess. We haven't really trained with it, since it would mean he'd want to have control in the same way, and I won't let that happen.

Shiro's probably gonna tell you anyways so...whatever. I'm a Makai demon, and I've got a demon form that I don't wear on a daily basis. So yeah.

This whole thing with you two's kinda complicated, huh? Way more than I figured.

I guess you could say that Shiro is kind of like my demon... Normally we're one in the same, but he has his own body here, so he gets to do all of the things that I don't let him do...

Yeah, he's usually... Well, he's always been the way he is here, but more like a nagging voice in the back of my head, trying to take control whenever he thought that he had a chance.

I don't like using the mask, or any variation of Shiro's powers, but I've been kind of dependent on them back home...

Is it better, having him seperate from you?

It's not...it's what I am. I just don't like people seeing it and getting all panicky cause of it.

I don't mind, really. It's kind of cool to talk about it with someone that gets it.

I don't really know... It's a lot of pressure that I don't have to deal with anymore, but I still have to watch over him, and... You've seen him, he's like a destructive, impulsive child that I have to babysit almost all the time.

It'd be easier if he wasn't separated, people wouldn't be hurt so much, but I can't say that it's all bad...

Shiro is what I am too... In a weird way. I don't think that anyone would be panicky around you. You seem like a pretty good guy.

People see a Makai demon walking down the street, whether or not it's got a passing resemblance to me, they're not gonna exactly wanna get cozy. S'not like I'm ashamed of it. I'd just...you know, I'd rather them see me. The demon thing's not something I advertise.

So you've gotta sit on him twenty-four seven to make sure he doesn't do anything. Shit. [Beat.] You know he's a lot stronger now, right? After getting yanked home and back.

I get that. At least you can keep yours a bit of a secret. I can't do anything about Shiro, but hopefully I won't have to let people see my hollowfication.
