File ME-14 [Video]: 3 Decker Sauerkraut and Toadstool Sandwich with Arsenic Sauce
A day later than I intended, but I suppose that now is as good a time as any to discuss the subject; even more so now that we appear to have a tide of new imPorts on our hands. By the way, greetings to those of you who fit the bill. I'm afraid you'll simply have to get used to your situation the same way as the rest of us have, but you are, at least, not alone.
Which is, incidentally, the idea behind this announcement.
[Clears his throat a bit.]
Those of you who were here last December may remember the holiday dinner thrown by Lupin and myself. While I have remained unable to determine the culprit responsible for making a hole in my roof, it was nevertheless quite successful, and did seem to do much to lighten the mood of those involved. Therefore, we have chosen to host a second one.
It will be held on December 19th at 7:30 in the evening, at [address]. You'll forgive us for not using our house, but we thought we ought to make it a little more proper this time, and the manager of the hotel renting out the rather roomy dining hall has assured us that the staff members are very friendly.
All imPorts are welcome to attend, and I do stress the 'all' in that statement, provided each person in question is generally capable of behaving in a civilized manner for a little under two hours. The purpose of this event is not to see anyone judged for who they are, what they believe, or what they have done, but rather, to provide a brief moment of warmth, food, and companionship to all who would seek it by making it possible to temporarily forget both the loneliness of being pulled here from our homes--often without family or friends at our side--and the difficulties from which we suffer on a daily basis as a result of our unusual status. Those of you who have just arrived are especially encouraged to attend.
The majority of the food will be catered, although I will be adding a few dishes of my own. If anyone else wishes to assist in the setup or bring extra refreshments that is also acceptable, though not required. Furthermore, while it is not specifically a Christmas party, a table will be readied for those of you who would find it convenient to exchange your gifts to others at that time.
I do ask that those of you who would like to attend speak up as soon as possible, as I will need to have a loose estimate in order to finish planning, although we will certainly not turn away anyone who shows up at the last minute. Kindly notify us if you also have dietary restrictions of some sort, self-imposed or otherwise, so that we may prepare something more in accordance with your tastes if at all possible.
That will be all.
[OOC//If you respond here, please try to let me know on the signup post as well so I can keep a running tally for prep's sake! Players and/or their characters have until half an hour before the dinner to sign up, spots are unlimited, and we do literally mean ANYONE is welcome. :) ]
