029. Video Comm

[The image shakes, as if the comm is being held by an unsteady hand--and there's Obi-Wan, his expression terribly blank.

He's cradling Bakura in the crook of one arm, wrapped in his cloak as if to keep him warm. The boy looks chalk-white, and it's pretty clear he's not breathing.]

My... [His voice is small and somewhat disbelieving.] My son... needs a healer.


((ooc: following on the heels of this log. So despite the call for a healer, Bakura's already dead. :( ))

[He looks back down at Bakura, silent for a very long moment.]

[it takes a minute or two, where he's just standing there with his fists clenched, head down, but...then it comes. First the tears, then screaming - and then something that anyone with a certain sensitivity can feel is both connected to it and separate from it. There's power, there, that wasn't there a second ago]

[Kiryu reaches their door about the same time that the mark on his arm lights up and starts burning. He hisses and grabs at it, trying to ignore the pain as he dashes into the apartment.

And then is promptly dumbstruck because what the hell Alastair...]

[he's not even aware of the symbol that just appeared on his forehead, but something about this feels really familiar. And in his state? He's not going to protest it, but let it fill him]

[Obi-Wan just sort of folds up over the body, burying his face in Bakura's shoulder.]

[Kiryu definitely notices that symbol--it's kind of hard not to--and he definitely recognizes it. And for a moment, he almost feels like laughing. Because he's seen what that does and the strength it gives Alastair and whoever hurt Bakura is so fucked--

Bakura.

And then the laughter is gone and he shuffles over to Obi-Wan to see...he heard most of their conversation, but it was completely different to see for himself.]

[he's just going to stand there, actually crying even though hello new power]

...it's...too late. He's gone.

[he doesn't even notice when he switches forms, except that the burning is considerably less like this. and it isn't long before he has to move away again.]

That isn't...who the fuck would want to kill Bakura...?

I don't know. [he holds out Bakura's comm, which he miraculously hasn't shorted out yet] But someone was here. To meet me. They came for me, not him.

What? [he'll carefully take the comm to see, and then somehow not break it in rage.]

[there's a half-finished text, Bakura was sending it to Alastair to get him to hurry up because "You have someone here to see you" - it never got sent, though]

This can't...this can't be real...

[And if Kiryu had super-strength, this comm would be destroyed from how hard he's squeezing it. Good thing he doesn't.

But he can't stay emo-angry forever. Soon enough he's smiling with that really deranged smile of his and he reaches up to brush his thumb over the mark on Alastair's forehead. It is really nice to see that.]

He'll come back. He has too. But we should make sure this can't happen again...

[he touches his forehead, too, but there's nothing to feel there. He can guess, though. It must be there. He can sense it]

I want to find who did this. I want to find them and make them pay.

[satisfiedsigner]

[nodding. and handing the comm back over to Alastair.] We'll find them and destroy them. Anyone responsible for this.

That's right. [that is not a very good look developing on his face] Everyone who had a hand in this. They're all going down.

[he looks at the comm for a minute, and wibbles, before going to put it in Bakura's room and then fetch his duel disk. Ahh duel disk, how I've missed your comforting weight on my arm]

[not a good look, bah. that is a sexy look. obviously good things will come of it...]

[Kiryu pauses to glance at Bakura again before heading to grab his duel disk too. Even if Alastair had power now, Kiryu was going to doubly make sure he wouldn't get hurt.]

[he likes that. They don't even need to ask each other, anymore, they just...move together as a pair, a team, looking out for one another.

...well hey there's still a Jedi dude in their apartment. Huh]
