There's no real sort of normality to lives, work, or any of that. Just averages.

Besides, I can't exactly see you waiting tables. You wouldn't be able to silently tolerate the bullshit the customers send your way.

I figure if you had taken something closer to a normal path, whatever that means, you would've ended up doing volunteer work outside of the country.
