[this is the comm flicking on by itself because this is rp and we can do that. gemma is standing in her living room, in front of one of the windows. she carefully peeks through one of the curtains (they've been shut tight ever since the bird/rat attack). there is a cap of tea in her free hand. seeing nothing trying to break the glass, she gives a relieved sigh, pulling the drapes back and slumping her shoulders a bit.]
Thank goodness those horrid creatures have stopped!
[suddenly, there's a little spark at her fingers. gemma jumps like two feet in the air, eyes wide. her teacup falls from her hand, but strangely, it just slowly floats to the ground instead of falling and spilling. gemma presses a hand to her heart, and just watches it until it settles innocently on the carpet.]
... Oh.

I actually had this power in my own world. And I'm not quite sure--I've just gotten it back, you see. I... died a few weeks ago.

I'm... sorry to hear that. You mean to say it took you from your deathbed, as well? [intrusive, but he has been, as far as he knows, the only one that's happened to.]

[A... pause.] No, sir. I died here, in the City.
