[Joel's in his apartment yet again, sitting on the floor and assembling what looks like a small table.]

Who's going to that Charity Ball? I'm not sure if I'm going to go. I mean...are we supposed to bring a date or go suit and tie? [He frowns, pausing to fasten a few screws.]

I was thinking about something else too. What do you think about legacy heroes? [A beat for him to check the instructions.] Like back where I'm from, there were more than a few heroes that took on the names and sometimes costumes of older ones when the older heroes stopped heroing for whatever reason. Are there any heroes you think just shouldn't have a successor? Or if you're normally a hero back home, do you hope someone takes up your ID when you get too old or something?

Yup! It was pretty weird at first, but I've been practicing and I'm doing better at controlling it.

Have you been here long? I've only been here a month myself.

I imagine powers are weird for anyone that didn't have them before they came here. [A beat.] Or atleast wasn't around them a lot before coming here.

[He thinks a moment then looks a bit surprised.] Wow...it's getting close to it being a year actually.

[A pause.]

Or, at least, I don't think they do.

Seriously? Wow, I wonder who's the imPort who's been here the longest.

All sorts of people have powers where I come from. My whole family had powers except for me.

Yes, seriously. [He smiles.] I don't know who's been here the longest but I know some people have been here about two years.

Two years? Huh. I wonder how long this place will want me. I'm not sure how heroic I can be with hair that can grow and pick stuff up.

Well, there was a heroine back home that had the same power actually. I don't know much about her but she was part of a big United Nations team. [He thinks.]

Yeah, definitely!

[He nods.] Her name was Godiva I think.

Well, maybe you can learn how to make your hair...punch people?

Oh gosh, I wonder if I could.

[She thinks, then concentrates, getting her hair to roll up a bit like a fist. Then she shoots it out.]

Hey, that might work! I dunno how hard it can hit, but no one will be expecting a punch from hair, right?

I don't think very many people would expect that.

[He smiles.]

I know a place where you could take martial arts lessons too so you could learn how to fight.

Oh, I'm not sure I could do stuff like that! A guy at my work back home does that karate stuff, and he says it's really hard and you have to have discipline. I don't think I have much of that.

It does take some discipline but part of learning the moves and stuff is learning the discipline. I thought it would be hard too but once you get the hang of it, it's really not.
