[Draco comes on screen and he's remarkably paler than usual, wide eyed, looks like he's probably puked a little in his mouth. He's terrified, is what I'm saying. He says in a really small, quavering voice:]

Help. Uh...I don't know how to reach the pole-ice and--And--

Some-someone's dead.




[He's found Bellatrix dead, but he's wary enough not to say publicly just who...]

[He inhales and looks aside.]

Here? I don't know . . . Don't want to know, really.

[She frowns.]

You know her from home?

...Are you sure you don't want help? It would probably be better if someone were with you!

She's [a small beat] my aunt.

But she's not a good person, either. It's hard to say she didn't not deserve this. All the same it's . . . brutal.

[He figures she's offering to come over, which he thinks is nice, but.] You shouldn't see this.

[Oh. She frowns.]

I doubt she deserved it. And I will be fine!

[Kind of sad that she's seen so many people die considering her age.]

[She's giving him a look.]

[Not that he looks very reassured, his hand still being as shaky as it was holding the comm.]

[She doesn't look very reassured, either.]

Okay. I can still talk to you while you wait!

[He does reply for a few minutes, as Snape just showed up, but when he's back he's less...shaky. Still pale and haunted, but, calm.]

He's here, but he's talking to the officer. We can talk while they do, I suppose.

Okay. Um...

[What would be distracting...]

Oh! So I have heard about the houses at Hogwarts and everything, but what are they, exactly? Are they just arbitrary divisions?

[He blinks, hesitates, then slowly explains...]

They're not arbitrary, people are sorted into them by means of a magical hat that can tell these things. There's four houses: Slytherin, which is mine as I believe I've told you, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Each house has its own distinct differences that makes them what they are.

[She nods, propping her chin on her hands.]

What are the differences?

Slytherin is cunning and clever, eager for power. Ravenclaw are eager for knowledge. Gryffindors are supposed to be courageous and full of foolish bravado. Hufflepuffs are . . . exceedingly friendly. It's thought of the house where all the others go.

You sound a little biased! I wonder what house I would be in.

Absolutely. I already told you Slytherin is best. [Ignoring the fact most of them did very evil things recently, but...

He pauses again, as if realising what he's discussing while there's a bloody mess of a body in the next room over. He swallows, but the potion is working too well to really make him freak out again, and soon he comes up with an answer:]

I think Hufflepuff. Maybe Ravenclaw.

[She smiles.] I like learning! But I guess I am pretty friendly, too.

[Annnd a pause.] So, you live at the school, right?

[He nods.] For most of the year.

[She laughs.] You deserved it!

[Is this working to distract him?] Really? That's so cool! What is it like?
