Okay, so the City is pretty much part of a pretty regular version of Earth, and I have seen Christmas decorations all over the place so it's pretty safe to assume that it has normal Earth holidays right? Uhm, wait, unless my Earth is the one with weird holidays.

[ Pausing and scrunching up his face thoughtfully. It's like he JUST NOW thought of that possibility and is suddenly boggling over the idea. ]

Are Christmas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah still normal holidays here? Because I think those are the normal ones where I am from. Also I have never celebrated the Kwanzaa or Hanukkah, so I don't actually know what's normal for them, but I know it involves candles, but... people still get trees to decorate for Christmas, right?

Christmas? Uh... I think so! It depends where you are too. Also not everyone is Christian, so not everyone practices it even in one area!

It still seems to be such an odd concept, though I do find holding one's friends dear relatable enough to warrant further consideration.

Maybe it's a human thing, but I definitely think it is worth consideration.

Given the unfamiliar qualities such concepts hold, I would imagine they must be human in nature! The very definition of family is one that would likely be regarded as wholly alien on Alternia.

Well, you guys still have some friends that are closer than other friends though, right? Like some that are really important and you would do anything for?

Some cases of it, yes, even beyond those we may hare a quadrant with. Though some such relationships have grown...strained due to particular circumstances.

That is one large factor, yes.

Perhaps not the only one, but it certainly covers a fair majority.

Well... I mean... it's not all of you that did it! So you could probably just celebrate with the trolls you are still friends with?

As will likely occur, but there are certain to be small upsets among loyalties that some individuals aren't invited.

I suppose it would only be worse if Equius or Vriska were still within the local timeline.

Wait... I mean, I don't agree with you guys about Vriska but I know you guys have been fighting with her, but are you guys fighting with Equius too?

It wasn't fighting. Not explicitly. That situation is more complicated than I care to expound on.

With Equius it was simpler. He was still among us, and we welcomed him in that area, as he'd done nothing to actually earn open hostility. But, as I mentioned, it was a matter of loyalties, and he and I had some disagreements on that topic.

Okay... that doesn't actually sound any less complicated to be honest. In fact, that sounds more complicated.

That's only because you underestimate the degree of complexity all matters pertaining to Vriska tend to achieve.

I don't know, I think you guys make stuff with Vriska more complicated than it really is sometimes.

Don't try to insinuate that I'm unaware of this subject. I've known her for a very long time, there is a great deal of water flooding the river over which that bridge had been burnt.

You know, if we are using bridge metaphors though, can't bridges always be rebuilt? It isn't like they are gone forever! I mean, sure it takes a lot longer to build one than to set it on fire and then I guess stand there and probably laugh maniacally while it burns down, but it is definitely possible.

And certain rivers are far too tumultuous to be easily crossed.

But it doesn't mean you can't do it, even if it's not easy.

I'm uncertain whether the effort required would justify the reward. But the point is moot, anyway, given her current absence from this timeline.

I guess so... But... in the future! Maybe if you are willing to try, I don't think it would be a bad thing. I mean, I know she did a lot of really awful things, but I think she is honestly sorry about most of them. Only, I guess it's better you talk to her if she ever comes back and hear it for yourself, since I don't think it means a whole lot coming from me.

"Most of them" being the key phrase at play. Others she seemed largely unaware of, and disinterested in discussing when the time was appropriate.

Now that the damage has been fully done, I don't know how comfortable I might be to broach the topic. I doubt it would end well.

Hmmm... What if you wrote it in a letter? That way you don't have to say it to her directly if you don't want to talk to her about it, but you still get to say it.
