[Trowa is sitting cross-legged on the spartan little thing that passes for his bed, and is petting his kitten, Angus. The little ball of fluff seems to be walking back and forth across his lap, repeatedly marching up off the bed, over his legs, down to the bed, and back again. Apparently, a stay with Humee didn't hurt it any. Trowa, however, looks pretty lost in thought.]

[How else would you apologize to everyone your Skrull pissed off when you're the type that's light on words?]

You said it could come see you.

[Trowa suddenly hugs the cat to himself. Angus headbutts his chin before wriggling out of his arms and stubbornly continuing his march.]

Can... I still go?

[Trowa stares at the words, picking out don't, for, and (after almost a full minute) their. He tries to figure out the other two, but it's turning out to be a no-go. In the meantime, the communicator picks up on his mumbling:]

For their... a... act...

[Hrn. Well, it's easier to just speak anyway.

He looks pretty haggard, though.]

[He sees you looking kinda ratty, there, Sherlock. And he isn't sure what to make of you just yet, because you had a Skrull, too, according to his skim over the Network's entries from while he was away.]

Yes. But you aren't responsible for what happened, and anyone who would hold you responsible for it is an idiot.

[The words are harsh but the tone isn't - his voice is quiet and even.]

[He'd already known from Ginny that nobody would take him to the police for things that happened in this kind of situation - she'd said so when everyone had gotten alignment swapped. But hurt feelings were another matter entirely, or so he'd thought.]

You don't worry? About your friend being mad?

[Oh Trowa. Sherlock is the last person to take advice from regarding feelings...]

John? No. I'm not worried. [John came to rescue him, after all. So Sherlock knows he understands.] He knows it wasn't me.

[Pity nobody's told him so yet!]

[Then, remembering something:]

...You're not gonna take his fingers now?

[alldeduction]

[He almost smirks, or maybe it's a smile, twitching at the corner of his lips.]

No, I have no intention of forcing him to part with any limbs. And I wouldn't have, despite the skrull's intentions.

Even if they were convinced it was me.

[Trowa thinks about that for a while. If they were convinced Sherlock was himself, and he was thinking about cutting off fingers... but he does say he wouldn't have. Hm.]

You promise? That you won't?

[alldeduction]

[He looks a little bemused, to get this drawn out of him from a child, but still:]

I promise. I won't hurt him. And I'll make sure no one else does.
