Are the other kids nice?

I didn't really like school that much back home. I don't think I'll like it much better here.

I don't actually have much of a standard for comparison, really. All of my schoolfeeding prior to my enrollment at the Institute was accomplished at home.

But I have enjoyed it here since.

Did you like homeschooling? I always thought that'd be even worse. Being cooped up in the house all the time would suck.

There were certainly enjoyable aspects. My hive was in no lack of things to occupy my time, and I appreciated my mother's company for the most part, but I must admit to not being particularly fond of the solitude on most occasions.

Well, aside from the zombies, I suppose. Though they offered more of a deterrent from wandering off too far than any hope of stimulating company.

They infested the desert outside my hive. Straying beyond the lawnring unarmed during the daylight would spell certain doom.

You lived through a zombie invasion? I don't know if that's cool or scary.

To call it an invasion isn't exactly accurate. Their residence of the location preceded my own, you see.

No! We had witches and stuff, but no zombies.

Well, witches are generally a far kinder association to keep, in my experience.

If they're nice, then they're not witches. They're just people who can use magic.

This would certainly telegraph the paucity I suspected. I can't imagine what would have resulted if I drew a similar conclusion after meeting my first human!

Tell me, which aspect was this individual? I imagine some of them would interact with their titles in rather disagreeable ways.

Aspect? Do you mean what was she like?

Well, you say that she was a Witch, and her aspect would determine what variety of manner her role expressed itself. The domain from which she pulls her power, and over which exerts her influence.

Domain? She said it was the night, the moon. Dreaming.

That isn't one I'm familiar with, though I don't doubt it has potential to be especially unpleasant, if she so inclined you against others who share the label.

She wasn't just unpleasant, she was completely evil. Worse than the worst thing you can thing of.
