[He looked up at it, stomach-down save for the recently marked wrist with its golden touches. That was upwards, avoiding any touch outside the air.]

Does that not please you?

Yes, but don't think that will suffice.

Can other people see them?

[He asked, staring at the marks.]

[Desire looks at him for a moment]

And if they touch them? Will the response always be the same? Lesser than with you, but similar?

[He pushed himself up from the floor, his muscles snapping quick and violently. Edward stormed to the opposite corner of the room, as if that spatial defiance would even out the playing field.

Fine. [He said, after a long pause.] Fine. I'll simple please you, then, I'll find some palatable way and I'll do it.

[When he moves, Desire is next to him, because it's being like that today.]

[He winces, when it appears immediately at his side. No escape, no mercy.

He knew better than to reason with it, or beg.]

And when you're done with this game, will you begin yet another?

That depends on the mood you leave me in.

[He turned to it, careful not to touch.]

I've already admitted that I need you, that can't incite the worst possible outcome of mood, can it?

Yes. [He spoke as his eyes devoured Desire's image, starving still.] Fortunately.

[Eddie took a step back, eyes wide and the fist of his marked hand clenched. He didn't say anything, didn't trust the mounting rush of anger and fear and humiliation to manifest words. He simply watched Desire as the Endless vanished.]
