Chapter 1 // Voice, Video
[Even three years past the end of the war, even after she and the rest of the Animorphs had been out about who they were, Cassie couldn't shake that basic need to be overly cautious. She had no idea if the Yeerks were here in this place, in this new dimension. If they had control over the population or not.
So instead of video, Cassie switches on the voice function.
Her tone is friendly, if not a bit confused and cautious:] Well, this is definitely weird [...but she should almost be used to it, right? The Ellimist had whisked the Animorphs away to different planets and dimensions on more than one occasion.]
So yeah, um. Hello everyone! I'm pretty new here, apparently.
The computer and the pamphlet I read said stuff about being a hero? I think there may've been a mistake or something. [Not that she minded the label (even after it'd become slightly wearisome back home). But really, she'd done her time. Tenfold.]
Anyone out there that can fill me in a little bit more?
Also--[the video flicks on for a few seconds to show a dog]--this little guy has been following me around since I got here. He doesn't have a collar or anything. Is anyone missing a dog?
