Eighth Gear ; Video

[Tali's been thinking a lot about Legion, lately. It might be because it had died right in front of her, or it might be because up until a few moments before his death, she hadn't been certain of whether he cared for her or wanted to kill her.

It had been the latter, it turned out.]

Tell me, City -- how do you feel about artificial intelligence? Does it exist it your world?

If it does, do you trust it? Is it its own species -- or many species?

If you killed it, would you consider it murder, or simply -- deactivation?

[She glances off-camera.]

I don't doubt that people feel differently here, with the AI having bodies. I'm just -- curious.

[Really, she's trying to sort through how she really feels about them -- the geth, at least. Making a generalization about all AI would be as ridiculous as making a generalization about all organic life. The Reapers were far different from the geth, after all, and they'd proved that repeatedly.]

Absolutely. It would be beneficial information to have possession of [and it was the sort of knowledge that Flynn had kept to himself. Selfishly.

The corner of his lip perks at the question.]
Completely dissimilar to my own. It's messy, erratic. Chaotic. Inconsistent. [Basically all the stuff that tends to bother him.] But vastly complex, filled with an innumerable amount of variety.

[That gets a half-smile. Hit the nail right on the head.]

I've found that, yes.

It could benefit from simplicity. Order. Predictability.

Hm [his expression tightens]. Not from what I've seen.

[He doesn't look to be onboard with this idea at all.]

How is that?

[Clu arches an eyebrow. This must be a User thing.

And he likes to think he's about as far as impulsive as you can get.]

Spontaneous behavior produces unpredictable results. That doesn't sound too relaxing.

Video; -- as far from impulsive** lol

[Good question. But he's still way too fixated on the unpredictable part of this.]

Not worth the risk. And either way, I've yet to see spontaneous behavior produce anything pleasant or of value.

[Like the ISOs, the virus, Flynn's capriciousness. Unpredictable behavior in his system didn't have a very good track record.]

[Clu cocks his head. He likes his patterns, so the likelihood of him changing them are probably pretty low.]

You're a real advocate of this, aren't you?

It is, yes.

[Pause] Is it very different from your own system?

Aha. [Curious now:] In what ways?
