It is the second Sunday of May.

I wonder how many of you can pay tribute to your mothers in this City? Many of you have probably been separated from your mothers. Even those whose mothers have gone cannot even visit their grave. How many mothers have been torn from their children?

Cards not given, flowers unreceived.

[ Pause. ]

Is it particularly depressing for you?

Uh, yeah. That's why I said it was depressing.

What happened to your mother? Or is merely that she is not here?

My mother doesn't matter.

Such a rude thing for a son to say. [ As if calendar man hadn't said basically the same thing a few posts up, the hypocrite. ]

Well, she doesn't. It's just the truth.

She faked her death to get out of raising me and my sister?

[exceptfebruary]

[ Beat. ]

I see. Above and beyond the normal failure of a parent.

[conflagrations]

[ YEAH TAKE THAT CALENDER MAN ]

Yeah. She takes the cake or whatever.

Was it selfishness? A lack of love? Or was there a reason she fled?

[conflagrations]

She liked her job more than us. Or me. I don't know, she was more interested in talking to Sue than anything else.
