[Natasha is in an odd mood, which is why she's posting to the network. She's in a nicely appointed office with a glass of white wine the desk— in her house, not where she works, for the few people that could tell the difference.]

So.

A few weeks back I had a houseguest who didn't know how to knock.

It was all very boring, so I'll cut to the meat of it: now my foyer is a mess and I've just spent a terrible amount of money on getting all the glass back in the window just so.

But when you tear something down you can build it back up again. Not how it was, but exactly how you like. I've always loved to redecorate.

Neons with neutrals would be very on trend. But there's something dreadfully impersonal about being in fashion. How would you do it— classic or modern?

You know, it might be best to conclude that I know nothing about interior decorating. And neons are horrible.

I do not. I did, but then my brothers left and I moved into their house.

That must be nice.

I mean, probably.

Are you still at the MAC, then?

No. I live in the Upper West Side.

Voice;

I'm not completely sure of the significance of that, but bravo.

It's just a neighborhood. Residential, quiet.

I don't actually know if they call it that here. But that was the name for it back… well, where I'm from.

I don't know the proper name for anything around here. I guess it's just as well. I'm not much for the City, I figure, this or any other one.

Do you like the small-town closeness thing?

Or are you one of those who'd prefer to live in a tiny cottage in the woods, away from everybody?

The latter. It's just a little easier to function as we are with a little more space.

Big family?

I'm number six of seven children in my magic-using family. Some distance from the village made things more harmonious all-around.

Let me guess— just one girl.

My little sister.

She's the youngest?

Yep.

That must have been fun for her.

Oh, you bet. I think she handled it really gracefully, though. She seems way more well-adjusted than me, most of the time.

Do you think that's hard?

I'm serious. I don't know what you'd call well-adjusted.

Everyone here seems to have a different definition.

Well-- Well, yeah. A good chunk of folks around here are perfectly okay with there being space-blokes! And with there being magic! And all sorts of wild things, yeah?

Even by my world's standards, though, Ginny's pretty well-composed. Always has been, whereas I've had my moments.

Even here, she took things pretty smoothly.

Being well-adjusted isn't always the same as keeping calm.

But I take it she's gone now, too.

She is, yeah. She and my brothers went at around the same time, actually. Sort of a one-fell-swoop deal.
