[The sound of sporadic fireworks can be heard in the background as Midii's face appears, hands tightly covering her ears. The poor girl's eyes are red, voice quivering when she speaks. She appears to be huddled beneath an outdoor table, knees pulled up to her chest.]

I thought your American Independence Day was not until tomorrow, yet people have been setting these fireworks off since--

[Another explosion in the sky, loud enough to cause her to visibly jump, letting out a small yelp. She looks close to tears.]

Is there some place I can go where I will not hear them?

That sounds like fun. I haven't made a fort in ages.

I have never made one before. It is supposed to block out at least some of the sounds.

You've never made a fort? Geez. I'll have to find more pillows so we can make an extra big one for you.

What would I have made it with? There were hardly enough pillows to sleep on.

And you are right. We will have to make it extra large. I will even get Max to let us use the couch cushions if we need.

[All this plotting and thinking is offering a decent distraction from the fireworks overhead. She only jumps a little at the next one, and it was exceptionally loud anyway]

Games. We can play games or make prank calls or I got a bunch a books when it was my birthday.

What kind of books?

Fairy tales, fantasy, and some stuff about magic.

I would like to hear some of those stories.

We'll read them then. I'v got a bunch. Everything from Peter Pan to short story collections.

Sweets, stories, and no more fireworks.

I can not wait until tomorrow comes.
