I was under the impression that England was beyond the ocean east of our current position. Japan is somewhere across the western boundary, isn't it?

Though I suppose I've only had the first variety, if that is the case.

I guess it's because in Western countries, a lot of the original population has European roots. [ history :| ] It doesn't have much relevance now geographically, but I think it used to.

So it is a definition used entirely independent of the objective geographic nature of any given place, due to the cyclical nature such a sphere would by necessity retain?

I suppose there's a great deal about this planet that I still have yet to learn.

I don't really know. It certainly did within the mechanics of the game we were caught within. Whether the propagation of paradox space is similar in other clusters is something I have no knowledge of.
