[Hey look! It's an empty MAC room. The comm appears to be floating as if someone's holding it, but there's just nothing interesting there. A bed, a desk with some scattered papers and a denim jacket hanging off a chair, a coffee mug that looks like it could probably use a good rinsing. Nothing super cool or seemingly worthy of the bandwidth involved in sending this video.

... It basically carries on like this until abruptly someone (or something, I guess) picks up another communicator and begins to punch out numbers on the key pad. They don't have any significance, but they're pressed and released in a very specific way. It's slow at first, but gradually the repetitions get more comfortable and quick. Yes, that's right. Someone's punching out Morse Code very awkwardly on a keypad.

After punching out SOS SOS (pause pause) about 10 times, whatever's holding the second comm apparently gets irritated and so away it goes, sailing through the air obviously propelled by something, only to land angrily against a wall.

And then, the feed goes black.]

[Another seemingly empty room. Something picks up that second comm again and starts punching away.

It spells out H E L L O.]

[Excuse her while she giggles.]

Looks like you're havin' a little trouble there, huh.

[Just more code: W H O]

What do you mean who?

[Oh wait. Maybe he doesn't recognize her as a fourteen year old brunette.........]

Nick, c'mon. It's me, Bobbi.

[There's a pause, as if the person on the other end is thinking really hard. It's taking him a minute, thinking is painful right now. He's got a hell of a headache. When the code returns, it punches out: K N O W Y O U (stop). Which, might be a little misleading. He knows her SHIELD file, sort of. The parts of it he was able to make sense of anyhow.]

Right.

[That's not exactly the association she was expecting from him, but okay. This is making her pretty concerned.]

What's with the morse code? Did you forget how to work your powers? Or, y'know, type?

[More empty room and a floating comm. Again something's punching out code. This time it spells out Y E S.]

_{( a brief pause, as she deciphers and tries to figure how to respond. )}

Do you need help?

[There's a minute where he's thinking really hard, but no, he's got nothing on this name. A weird sense that he might've seen it before in some of the notes on the desk, but nothing substantial. Not like with Bobbi.

As such, he's less inclined to immediately admit that yeah, help actually did sound awesome just then. W H O A R E Y O U (stop).]

I'm Monica. You don't know me.

[Well at least this isn't another vaguely familiar, vaguely not person. That's more of a relief to him than it seems to her.

This time he punches out Y O U K N O W M E (stop) H O W (stop), before pausing for a few seconds and adding C O U L D U S E H E L P (stop) C A N T F I N D H O M E (stop).]

[Another shot of that empty room and spare comm. This time the code spells out M A Y B E.]

Alright. Can you describe the problem to me?

[There's a pause. How exactly do you articulate "I think I'm in the future or completely insane" in morse code? Then the beeping of the code on the keypad begins abruptly again: W H A T Y E A R. Which, he kind of already knows the answer to. The newspaper on the desk in his room was a fairly good indication, and these weird picture-things have dates on all the transmissions, but it would be nice to have a real live (supposedly anyway) person confirm it.

It's as 15 year old Nick is muddling through this that something else catches his attention.

This time the code punches out S T A R K (stop) K N O W Y O U (stop). Except that he's 90% sure he doesn't know anybody who goes by "Tony Stark". Except he does seem to know a ton about him. So much so that it's making his head hurt.]

What year? It's 2012. [ He pauses, and then because he is forever suspicious: ]

How do you know me?

[Well that's not exactly what Nick was hoping for, but at least it's not the first time he's considered it. What in god's name is going on? There's a minute or so pause as he considers how to answer. Obviously he's not going to straight up trust this guy he's never met but knows weird things about, but there's nothing that he knows that tells him not to trust Stark either. Or at least, that it wouldn't be useful to trust him for a while.

When the code begins again it spells out one word. S H I E L D.]

[Vic doesn't recognize the person, but when he sees on the comm who's sending it... Well, dang. Lucky for Vic, he's good at catching onto the Morse Code and rapid to decode it.]
