Right, I've read the pamphlets near that blasted machine, but can someone please explain to me why I was chosen? I'm hardly a hero, you'll want someone more along the Doctor's lines th

[the text switches off, as Harry accidentally manages to nudge it to video. you get a close-up of Harry, looking down at they keyboard and typing in a decidedly hunt-and-peck manner before he notices that the camera is on.]

Oh! Why hello there...I didn't know they made cameras this small. [a pause while he stares at the camera-then smiles slightly.] Anyway chaps, my name's Harry Sullivan, formerly of the Royal Navy now working with UNIT. I don't suppose any of you have seen a man called Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart around here, have you?

I would not say it is an inaccurate description. But there has been an increase in trouble that requires us to take a harder stance against our enemies than before.

That's how it usually works. Fun and games until someone mucks it all up.

Both, actually. I worked with UNIT and then I traveled with the Doctor for a while.

Traveled? Around Earth?

[ She'd normally assume so, but he did mention that UNIT worked with extraterrestrial life. ]

Heavens, no. Through time and space. The Doctor has a time machine-a TARDIS, he called it, that he used to take me and Sarah to different planets.

[ Wait, wait, hold up. ]

A time machine?

Precisely! It could be rather inconvenient at times however-we ended up visiting the same spaceship with a thousand years difference.

But still a remarkable feat of engineering regardless.

[ She's impressed, even if it's not her field. ]

The Doctor was the one who made it, not me. I can barely turn on my computer.

A Doctor of many things indeed.

[ She still can't get over that capital D. ]

Indeed. He's...ah, an interesting man.

[Though, Harry's tone of voice plainly says that he's substituting 'interesting' for 'eccentric', 'confusing' or 'nonsensical.']

[ There's a small raise of her eyebrow at that, although she supposes one would have to be to travel through time and space.

It also seems like the sort of thing the Guardians would have a fit over. ]

I can only imagine. Perhaps he will arrive as well as your Brigadier. [ A beat. ] While I have only been here for a few months, if you require assistance, do not hesitate to ask.

Just one at the moment, old girl. Where's this MAC the pamphlet mentions?

[ A green, 3D map appears in front of Soranik on the feed - clearly of the City. Even if it is glowingly and slightly transparent. ]

The MAC is located here [ And the corresponding building lights up a brighter green on the map, the entire thing tilting downwards to give Harry a bird's eye view. ] and you, if you are still outside the Porter building, are here. [ Another building glows in response, a more solid green line connecting the two that demonstrates the quickest route between them. ]

[WHOA, that is weird. Harry's watching the glowy transparent 3D map, mouth slightly agape.]

I say, that's quite impressive.

It's a solid light construct - the hallmark of a Green Lantern.

[ She shoves the side of it so it moves off the screen before holding up her hand to show the green ring on her middle finger. ]

Although the presence of a ring is the main identifier for someone in the Corps.

So, is the ring essentially your badge?

In a sense, although we do have badges. [ A gesture to her uniform, where the stylized lantern symbol is clear. ] But the rings are our weapons, and we are never without them.

[ It's one of the reasons she's never understood the idea of Earth Lanterns having secret identities - they're pointless when you're wearing a green ring at all times. ]

So you can make weapons using the rings, [Harry muttered, more for his own benefit than anything else. He frowned slightly, looking at the ring.]

Those things seem rather convienent, if you ask me! [he said, with a smile and a shrug.]

I can make anything I can imagine with the ring. [ It's a simple correction, in case he hadn't come to that conclusion himself. ]

They are - exceedingly so.

I'd ask how it works, but I know already that it's going to be over my head.

I believe only the Guardians know exactly how.

[ And probably the rest of the leaders of the other Lantern Corps, but Soranik prefers not to think about them. ]

And the Guardians are the people in charge of the Corps?

They are - the Guardians of the Universe - and they are the ones who created it billions of years ago.
