This device allowed me access to some very interesting posts, but I'm hard-pressed to take some of this seriously. I know I'm not dreaming; everything is too linear, aside from the initial disconnect of finding myself here. Please allow me to present the facts as I understand them, and feel free to correct any errors I've made.
- There is no return from this place.
- People with "superpowers" exist.
- So do sentient robots.
- As do Iron Man and Captain America.
- This city is not New York, despite looking very much like it, but "the City".
- ... We are... in another universe.

Also, the robots are metal anymore. It seems the 'porter changes anyone who isn't human or alive into one.

Strange. I suppose it eases transition into society, but that's quite a different function than just transporting people here.
