I'm not useless.

I know that I act like I am most of the time, and it ain't exactly as if I'm flying around the City putting out fires and grabbing kittens out of trees, but I can do stuff. Stuff that no one else here can.

This isn't me typing up a résumé and begging for someone here to hire me. I have a job. I like my job at the restaurant, and I've been getting way more shifts than usual, ever since Laura disappeared. You know, some of you should stop by sometime, and I'll probably make you something for cheap. Anyway, this is just something you should keep in mind.

I don't turn invisible. I can do better than that. I can move out of time and not be seen, so I can get in and out of anywhere without really being there. I'm fast, too. Give me days and I'll give back months. Whatever. You get the point—I can do shit that you can't, and seriously, that's useful.

Not asking for money. Not much, anyway. Just something to do to keep me distracted, so I don't end up getting high every night and acting like a stupid bitch around people only trying to help. Anything that's not too sketchy—I don't mind stealing and spying on people, but I'm not about to kill anyone. Or steal any of their organs.

Okay. Maybe a kidney.

And because I organised porter-duty when things were kinda upside down for a while, I should probably ask: you new guys doing alright here? Yeah, maybe it sucks, and no, you definitely can't get out, but my apartment is still half empty, if anyone feels like helping out with the rent.

I don't get why. Capes are classic. Capes are Superman. Capes help to detract form the fact that half of us are running around in spandex unitards. Oh well.

But cool. With the stuff I'm up to lately, the idea is usually to not got spotted anyway, so it shouldn't really matter what you wear. As long as you can actually move in it.

I'm pretty sure Superman's been killed or almost killed a million times in his continuity. It never sticks. And I don't think any of those deaths were cape-related.

Oh, 'kay. Summary is some gang in town is making or importing or something these guns. They look kind of like a joke, kitschy 80s sci-fi stuff, but they knock your powers out totally for an hour or something.

Me and Teddy have been working on trying to track down where they're coming from. And maybe get our hands on another one to see if we can take it to someone who knows more about tech and stuff.

Well, Teddy let himself get shot when we were trying to figure out whether it actually worked or not. Which. Just don't get me started on that. And I know Spider Man did the same thing. There've been a couple of others too.

Honestly, I'm less worried about these things as they are now. But they looklike they're just prototypes. Which means if we sit around and just kind of do jack, we might end up with a mass of guns that can take your powers permanently. And that would so surpass shitty.

Well, to be fair, I went along with it. It was a good idea to see if the gun could take away biologically inherent Skrull stuff, rather than just being specific to X-geners or porter powers. But in retrospect, maybe we should've thought that through a bit more.

Awesome. Like I said, it's kind of sit and watch right now, but I'll be taking off from [address] around 8 tonight and tomorrow if you want to come with.
