Well, basics are the text thing, the audio thing, and the video. You can send a text message or record your voice or make a video and slap it up on the network.

I don't know how to do computer ciphers, but pen and paper ones are easy enough. Not that there's anything I need to keep that secret. Usually only the military and certain branches of the government use them. Or criminals.

It's just a way of changing information to keep it secret. Only people that know how to break it are able to understand it. A skilled cryptographer could do it in most cases. The military uses them to relay orders that are top secret. Like the Zimmerman Telegram in World War I.
