Hmm, it's kind of interesting to see the the perspective with which approach problems. The heroes all ask who turned out the lights. Meanwhile, the thief asks what takes eleven minutes to get in and out of.

Got a new warehouse set up at [address a good ways across town from the other one]. Ramus is cleared out, so whenever you can relocate the jungle is fine.

Still in the security system business?

You know, if you keep ignoring me, I'll have to find a new date to prom.

If it was to steal something...

Why do it all over the city? Wouldn't that be a waste of effort?

[identity profile] lyingbrat.livejournal.com 2010-04-27 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. But the whole city?

Good question. Doesn't mean that I don't want to know who decided that pulling that stunt would be funny.

Anyway, you can't guarantee that all eleven minutes were needed. It might have been planned for less time and the machines just took a few minutes to get up and running - some were up faster than others. Or it could have been not long enough.

After all [his voice turns drier] I don't think they could have practiced. Pretty sure we would have noticed it if they tried.

The answer I want isn't so much what was it as how can we prevent it from ever happening again. Just seems like it'd be easier to answer the one after having figured out the other.

Likewise. But you're advertising a dangerous fact of nature.

Why anyone would need eleven minutes is beyond me.

[identity profile] chronosyoudidnt.livejournal.com 2010-04-27 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose. But then, anyone other than a time-traveller would be hard pressed to manage a heist of worth in eleven minutes. Doable, certainly, oh yes, but-- [ Pause. ] What inspired this line of thinking?

It could be. But there's been no reports of anything stolen worth blacking out an entire city for, let alone capable of being stolen in such a short timeframe. Then again, maybe it wasn't a cover for removing something.

I don't think I've ever gotten your name.
