[ Yep, it's Lt. Saitou Hajime all right, looking spic-and-span and normal as ever... Well. As normal as a 165-year-old samurai can pass as normal.

Not surprisingly there's a cigarette in his hand, taking a long drag from it before saying anything. Though one will note, when he does speak, it has a noticeably colder tone than usual (and will continue to sound so in all replies). ]

So sorry, Cavil. Didn't take.

As annoying as this debacle was, I did obtain some useful information. It's better we discuss off-network.

Dr. Horrible, was it? [ He narrows his eyes dangerously, throwing his spent cigarette away as well. ] Consider yourself a dead man.

[The Porter has made Saitou forget his 3-year-old son = basically translates as an upgrade to Cold Bastard™ 3.0]

[Kiryu briefly pauses both before walking away from the cab and then right before walking into the warehouse--this wasn't a place he'd really wanted to be again and he kept seeing flashes of that night that he didn't want to see anymore.

But he finally steps inside, looking around as his eyes adjusted. He has to check himself to keep from running over when he finally spots Saitou, although even then, he moved a little too quickly. And who cared if Saitou didn't like physical contact, he was getting a hug anyway.]

[ Surprisingly enough Saitou doesn't recoil at all when Kiryu comes over and hugs him. In actuality he pauses just a few seconds before bringing his arms around Kiryu and pulling him closer, though still silent for now. He probably couldn't think of anything to say right now anyway-- well except one thing. ]

I'm sorry.

[Kiryu's hug tightens a little, maybe to hide his shaking, maybe to reassure himself that Saitou's really here, whole again, not lying helpless--

He ends up hiding his face in Saitou's shoulder. he told himself he wouldn't cry again; once had been mortifying enough.]

Just...stop leaving...and don't make me have to do that again...

[ He makes a few shushing noises in response, just keeping him close and putting a hand behind his head. It boggled him, sometimes. How he felt that Kiryu might as well be the only thing he had left. And after Cavil had gone through with his threat of taking his family away... well. He didn't want to reminisce on that right now. But it had just made that idea more tangible. More realistic. ]

I won't. I'll be right here, Kyosuke. I'll be here as long as you need me to be.

[Kiryu lets out a faint laugh, relaxing a little at both the name and Saitou's actions.] It's about time you called me that...

[Before failing silent again. He really wanted to believe that, since Saitou was the only person he really felt he could trust right now and he couldn't blame Saitou for this or being sent home...]

I'm sorry too. I'm the reason you went there at all. If I hadn't been working I couldn't have gone with you...

[ That surprises him a little, but he smiles just barely. And might be absently sifting his hand through Kiryu's hair. ]

Don't. What's done is done. Don't blame yourself for my mistakes.

[Hrjkgmalk now he doesn't want to move...

So he probably won't until Saitou indicates that he's like to.]

I can't do anything to the person I'd like to blame.

[ S'OKAY HE'S KIND OF. BEING ATTACKED BY GUILT WAVES RIGHT NOW ANYWAY oh right him. Saitou is deeefinitely frowning like hell. He's still very pissed off about that. ]

[Oh good, they can bond even more over being pissed off and unable to do anything.]

Of course you can't... [annoyed sigh, so annoyed] I hate cops.

I'm really glad you're back.

[ YAY BONDING also Kiryu gets a dry laugh for that. ] I've noticed.

[ And yeah then silence again before loosening his hold a little bit and looking down. ]

Ready to go home?

[He makes a slight face at that, but...sigh, alright, fine, letting go now.]

If you are.

[ Saitou smiles faintly at him for a second before bopping his head. ]

I didn't think you'd want to stay here for very long. [ Saitou doesn't either, really. ]

Yeah, I guess not. I was kind of ignoring it.

...And the cabbie might not wait much longer.

[ Kiryu gets another laugh out of Saitou at that before starting to walk towards the car. ]

[Yes, walking to the car is good. At least he can't really cling now.

And he'll open the door for Saitou once they get there. And mutter a quick apology to the driver.]

[ Well that can't help but make him blink a second, but he smirks nonetheless and slides on in. Kiryu can cling to him again if he really feels like it while heading home, really. Maybe it's because... Saitou knows now more than ever what Kiryu had to go through. And how this feeling was the most frustrating one in the world. ]

[Well, that's good, because that's pretty much what Kiryu's going to do once he gets in.

Okay, well, maybe not with the other person right there. But he'll certainly be sitting a lot closer than the last time they did this.]

[ ... Okay yeah I suppose with someone else there Saitou can understand. But he'll let Kiryu do as he wants anyway. If there was anyone he would have liked to never be involved, it was him... but he'd ended up being involved nonetheless... But at least he'd understood what Saitou was trying to tell him when they found him like that--

He doesn't really want to think on that anymore, because it's making his expression turn sour, for one. Also he'd rather get his frustrations out tomorrow if he could help it. Not right now. Now was his oh-so-very needed break. And he was with the person currently who he felt he could be the most comfortable with, so that helped, and for the rest of the ride he'll be leaning his head against the window with his eyes closed. ]

[Kiryu might sneakily grab Saitou's hand, though, since that guy probably wouldn't see that. He could be a little clingy. Especially if Saitou was letting him.

At least it won't take too long to get home.]

[ Even with his eyes still closed Saitou manages a smirk, squeezing Kiryu's hand once in response.

He opens his eyes again only when he notices the car coming to a stop, the driver putting the taxi into park as well. That hadn't taken too long.

With a bit of a groan he shifts back to sit upright in his seat, opening the door beside him and waiting for Kiryu to follow. And secretly hoping Melee would at least wait a few minutes before beating the living daylights out of him if she was here-- ]

[Kiryu pauses long enough to pay the driver before sliding out after him. He'll wait for Saitou to start moving before moving to follow him, wondering vaguely if he should mention the state their little group is in at the moment.

...Well, he'd find out soon enough.]

You didn't forget our floor, right?

[ Saitou gives him a look that clearly interprets to 'are you serious,' but he waves it off with a laugh anyway. Also oh god how have you people not killed each other without me to mediate I swear ]

Of course. I didn't forget that.

[Also. Did you save Corny's drawing she did of Saitou and Kiryu dueling? o.o I forgot to save it.]

[Trying not to look embarrassed, yep. didn't matter if it was the porter or not, that had still been pretty lame...

[ Definitely a bit amused by Kiryu's embarrasment, though he'll say nothing on it for now and head inside, pausing just a second in the doorway. ... He hadn't set foot in here for almost a week. He hadn't seen anyone for almost a week. And sometimes... sometimes, when Cavil would force him into consciousness again, he couldn't remember if he'd been there for days or weeks at a time.

... But he doesn't really want to think on that right now, even with it so fresh in his mind. So he's just going to shake thought that away for now and head to the elevator. ]

[Kiryu frowns a little in concern, because it'd be hard not to notice that and seeing Saitou unsettled was weird, but he's not going to ask. If Cavil had put him through anything similar to what he'd gone through, he could understand it.

And he'll push the up button, a little surprised Saitou went right for the elevator.]
