This thing is brilliant! On my way to detention with Filch, then I end up here? I’ll take that any day. Figuring out Muggle contraptions is loads more fun than polishing trophies for the five hundred and eleventh time. Though I suppose he could have had something more evil in mind, he had a suspciously creepy smile when I saw him last time. [He pulls the camera back and tugs at his dogtags thoughtfully, then runs a hand through his hair, which just serves to make it even messier.]

Can’t say I’ve ever ended up in America before, and I can’t apparate yet, so I s’pose ...[There’s a little pause.] I don’t suppose there are any wizards here? Or anyone that knows how to get me back to Hogwarts?

[The connection breaks as he Disapparates and appears a few feet away. For a man in his thirties, he looks awfully like he could be that teenage boy you know so well. And a nervous one at that.]

Remus Lupin. Sometimes known as Moony. Friend to Padfoot, Prongs, ...and Wormtail. I'm also a werewolf, which you might call my furry little problem, and currently much too old to be the Remus you know, but I am.

[James stares a little, frowning thoughtfully, and then nods.]

You did say time was funny here. [Well, even if he's older, it's obvious that he's still Remus, so clearly the correct thing to do here is give him a Manly Hug.]


...You look shifty. You didn't just age yourself up or anything, did you?

More than funny. [He takes that hug and ups you one. He's a fair bit stronger than you. It may have edged from Manly to Emotional, but he's smiling by the end of it. Forgive him, James, he has his reasons.]


I've just lived an extra twenty years or so.

[Manly, Emotional, does it matter? Marauder hugs are being had here. He grins a little and doubletakes a bit at Remus' words, eyes widening.]

Bloody hell, yeah, that's a fair bit more than funny. What'm I like in twenty years, then? Amazing as ever?

[Somehow, he's able to keep his cool and the smile doesn't betray exactly how sad that question makes him. Instead, he chuckles a bit.]
