I was 8usy with some really 8ig and important irons 8efore this, you know!
Not that I 8lame you for wanting a gr8 hero like me. I mean, you pretty muched gra88ed the 8est there is.
How could I 8e angry when this place o8viously needs my touch????????
8ut, unfortun8 as it is, I've really got to get 8ack to my irons 8efore they get cold. That fire won't fan itself.
I've got 8ig 8ads to kill, useless gru8s to save, and a game to salvage. I'm on a tight schedule to get it all done, so as much as I'm really flattered that you need me so much, I just don't have the time!
Don't 8e too upset, 8ut I'm just too 8usy to 8e your hero.

Well, it wouldn't be proper to simply give myself all of that attention. Being strong only for my own sake would be far too selfish.

[terezi makes a faint displeased noise in the back of her throat. maybe she had a misstep, there, but she's too tired and guilty to push the issue anyway. instead she buries her head in kanaya's shoulder so that she can mumble an apology for the way she probably sounded just then.]

[ it's because they're questions she can't answer herself, or is afraid to even ask. having someone else answer makes them far easier to debate and dismiss ]
