[His face is in its lap. His fingers cling. He groans, in pain or pleasure.

[The touch is relentless]

[He buried his face, muffling a little moan.]

[Desire releases his wrist; there are three fingertip shaped spots, dusky and golden, imprinted on his skin.]

[The relief was palpable. He jerked away, erratic, gripping at his wrist. Staring.]

I have been careless about touching you sometimes, letting you think that the touch of an Endless is something to be brushed off lightly.

[Desire just leans back]

[They are erogenous, not forever, but for a little while. The marks, however, will stay as long as Desire wants them there.]

[He hesitates, watching Desire with cold calculation. It was not an invitation he recognized, but a demand phrased delicately.

He extended a finger, the barest of skin moving along a mark --

The warm sensation clutched at his stomach, his abdomen. Eddie gasped.]

What if someone touches me? [He pointed to his wrist, to the marks.]

[A pause, a hesitance.

And he rubs his wrist against Desire.]

[A bad idea. Whatever he might have felt when he touched it is a thousand times stronger on Desire's skin.]

Oh, now that was stupid.

[Quick reflexes defined a Gothamite, as did endurance and stamina. And even then, even then, Eddie was on the floor for ten minutes, clawing and gasping and needing and hurting.]

[He gasped out, curled on the floor.]

What do you need? For this to conclude quicker.

[He looked at it, from his spot on the floor. Looked at it sitting there.]

[Eddie crawled over to it, moving across the ground.]

[Desire looks down at him]

Edward.

[His fingers traced its ankle, its foot. He brought his face close, his lips twitching in a grimace. Tongue poking out.

And he stared, frozen, for a minute. Debating.]

I -- no. I can't do this.

[A laugh]

You're such an addict, Edward.

[He looked up at it, stomach-down save for the recently marked wrist with its golden touches. That was upwards, avoiding any touch outside the air.]
