[Tali's been thinking a lot about Legion, lately. It might be because it had died right in front of her, or it might be because up until a few moments before his death, she hadn't been certain of whether he cared for her or wanted to kill her.

It had been the latter, it turned out.]

Tell me, City -- how do you feel about artificial intelligence? Does it exist it your world?

If it does, do you trust it? Is it its own species -- or many species?

If you killed it, would you consider it murder, or simply -- deactivation?

[She glances off-camera.]

I don't doubt that people feel differently here, with the AI having bodies. I'm just -- curious.

[Really, she's trying to sort through how she really feels about them -- the geth, at least. Making a generalization about all AI would be as ridiculous as making a generalization about all organic life. The Reapers were far different from the geth, after all, and they'd proved that repeatedly.]

Eh, it's kind of common knowledge where I'm from. Some of 'em make the best heroes in the world. Others want to destroy it.

Not so different from the machines I know, then.

They're kind of like people, that way.

Was it humans who created them at first?

[trickshot]

Sure, they had to show up somehow. But I think their "lives of their own" sprung up pretty quickly.

It wasn't humans in our world.

And people didn't oppose that?

[trickshot]

Well, it's not like they made some big announcement about it--"hey, I'm making an AI, speak now about your worries or forever hold your peace!"

It just kinda happened.

My people didn't react well to the geth wanting their freedom. They were created as servants.

[She's not going to lie about it. That would be denying it happened, and that -- wasn't fair to Legion.]

So, what happened?

There was a great war, and our people were driven from their planet.

[trickshot]

Oh. That sucks.

That why you're asking about it?

[gofortheoptics]

Not exactly.

The planet has actually been -- reclaimed. The geth are now helping us to rebuild it.

[trickshot]

And everybody's just suddenly okay with each other?

[gofortheoptics]

I wouldn't say that, but the quarian cease-fire has proved to be a -- good sign.

They let the quarians back on the planet without any conflict. It's more than I could've hoped for.

[trickshot]

So you think'll end up with them coexisting? That's probably better that a lot of other ways it could go.

[gofortheoptics]

I think it's possible.

A -- friend of mine was something of a leader of theirs.

Yes, it was -- destroyed shortly before I arrived back here.

Sorry to hear that.

Once you know them, it's hard not to think of them as people, right?

It was a consensus geth until the very end, when it became an individual -- but yes, it is.

So what're you hearing from others? Murder, not murder...
