You know, most days I think this place is just like any other universe out there—sure, there are things that make each one different, but in essentials… I mean, you can make a life here as much as you can any other place, right?

But there are some things that are pretty irreplaceable. I was thinking about that, today—I had photo albums at home, piles and piles of them. And even if I couldn’t go back to the moments in those pictures, I could still look at them and remember. But they’re not the sort of thing you find at the corner store. There’s no way to get them back.

There must be a million other things, too, that we don’t think about. But it’s like there’s a wall there, separating from where we were or what we had or who we knew. But I think getting things out in the open makes them easier to carry, somehow.
