Day 2, 1st Hour // Video

[Jack appears in a shaky screen, wearing dirty clothing. He looks shocked, haggard, completely spent, and more than a little disoriented. He touches his face for a moment as though feeling for a wound, but there's nothing there.]

I'm back. I never thought- I never knew-

[Jack trails off and squeezes his eyes shut. Two years of memories and physical age are slamming back into him on top of the very bad day he just came from. He takes a deep breath, processes.]

I need an update. I need to know the status...

[He breaks off again, uncertain, confused. Then there's a shout and a wooping siren. Jack looks over his shoulder. When he turns back to the camera, there's the sound of feet running, his and two other pairs. His face is hard and grim.]

Fuck it.

[The post ends. Responses will be delayed ICly since Jack has been spotted by his former colleagues near the Porter Building, and needs to leg it.]

I am- I was. [Jack gives his head a shake. This is confusing for him.]

I had wounds twenty minutes ago. Now I don't and I'm- I'm two years older. [Frustrated sigh.] The Porter must have done something to my body. Reset me to how I was when I left, somehow.

[Not touching the hiding place one.]

I'm sorry. I know how disorienting it can be.

[Flying over London and then suddenly being in a building had certainly thrown her off.]

At least you're not hurt and they haven't found you.

Yeah.

[On top of over 24 hours without rest, he looks like he's about to collapse.]

'They' haven't found me, huh.

If it's between you and the force, I'm picking you. I can't stop them from arresting you, but I'm not going to help them.

[Jack coughs out a bitter laugh.]

Well that's one thing that didn't change when I was gone.

Just don't push it too far, okay? You can't help me as much if you get fired. That goes double if you get arrested.

[Hmm he's not even trying to talk her out of it now.]

[Good, because she'd win the argument anyway and this saves them both a lot of time and yelling.]

I won't, but you have to keep me in the loop this time alright? I can handle it.

I will.

[Silent for a moment, letting his eyes close.]

Is there anything I need to know about right now? Anything happening?

[At least he knows she won't troll him Ghost.]

We have a new officer, Roy Mustang. People have randomly started singing on the network and there seems to be some creepy new psycho in town who only uses text. They haven't actually done anything yet that I know of, but they're talking like they might.

As far as this place goes that isn't too bad.

[Opens eyes]

Tell me about the new creep.

The ID on the communicator says his name is Habit and really that's all I have on him so far. He's made some vague threats and then claims they're jokes. It's not a lot, but I'm going treat it seriously until I'm absolutely sure he won't be a threat to anyone.

Habit, huh. All right.

[Closes eyes]</small. Seras, I've got to go. I'll be in touch.

[She nods slowly.]
