[The video clicks on briefly from Vriska fiddling with the buttons, trying to remember how everything works. Blank, white eyes are staring down at it. In fact her whole face is pretty blank until she scowls in annoyance.]

[The feed shuts off abruptly, replaced by text:]

[ kanaya is standing there with the smuggest look on her face. she has another rock in the hand that isn't holding her comm, and she pulls back her arm, readying herself to throw it right at vriska's head. wouldn't take much luck to make that hit, would it? ]

[Oh, wow, OK. She wasn't ready to see Kanaya while she's all ghost-eyed like this. She's had absolutely no time to prepare herself, so she stares for a second before grinding her teeth.]

Old enough. [ "to hate," she appends in her head, but doesn't say. instead, she just lets the rock fly. ]

[Vriska jerks back and slams the door shut, narrowly avoiding a rock to the face. Turns out her luck is back, or some poor fool in the nearby vicinity is luckless now.]

You offered a challenge, so I decided I would bite. [ she chuckles to herself at the pun. it wasn't that great of a pun, honestly.

she walks up to the porch and stops to wait a second. she wants to give vriska an opportunity to react before making good on her promise. ]

Or do you suddenly not appreciate spontaneity now?

I appreciate not getting rocks tossed at me by petty assholes!

[She's not opening the door back. So just... yelling at her through it, yep.]

Oh, but don't you know that the two can be inherently entwined?

[ she picks off one of her rocks from the porch and rubs it off, then opens a portal, connecting her side of the door with the wall to her left. she taps the rock against her chin with a grin. ]

You didn't really expect that would work, did you?

[Turning on her heel to face her and rolling her eyes.]

Aren't there some stupid rules about rainbowdrinkers not being allowed to trespass or something?

You know, I'm really not sure! [ this is a lie, she knows the answer already. but, just to illustrate, she takes an exaggeratedly cautious step inside, arms against the doorjam and the smuggest piece of shit grin on her face. ]

Well, what do you know. It looks as if there are, in fact, no such rules!

[ her smile melts and the downside of spontaneity starts to settle in. she hadn't thought much farther than this, but she is pretty sure that just kissing her would probably be too forward.

but then there's still something smooth in her hand. ]

Is that a threat, because it's a pretty pathetic threat. There are plenty of better ways to do damage if that's what you came here for.

Is it damage that's most important, or simply nuisance? Because I could probably manage either with it, really.

If it's just nuisance, I'm gonna get bored quickly. After a while, you just become a dull thorn in my side that's easy to ignore.

You have to remember, the rock is, if anything, little more than a diversion. The true weapon is the arm that throws it.

[ she is being real spontaneous here, just going through all the trouble to bicker with her to her face instead of over the network. ]

[Vriska was pretty surprised about the spontaneity, to be honest. But it wasn't bad. If anything, it was kind of nice to have the familiarity of their bickering.]

[ and she lets the rock fly with an underhand toss, but it doesn't hit vriska. it flies right past her and knocks over a lamp. ]
