It's not just about looking silly it's just conflicting sides. The human side is all, 'This is stupid why am I chasing some poor little animal?' And the dog side is all, 'Must catch, must catch. Look at that delicious little critter!'

So what else do humans do in parks?

[dogwitch]

[Jade looks around. For the most part people are lounging on benches reading the paper or feeding the pigeons. A few people are jogging or walking their dogs. Luckily none of the dogs are coming close to the two girls.]

I guess they just relax.

Is that what you want to do?

I don't know, for my first day on a human planet, that sounds kind of boring, but if it's what you do....

I have to agree it does sound pretty boring. [She makes a thoughtful noise before smiling.] Do you want to see the ocean? I think I can teleport us to it. [She not entirely sure because the 'Porter kind of scrambled things and they're taking their time about becoming unscrambled.]

Yes! I would love to see the ocean! *This perks her right up. Not that she wasn't perky before.*

[dogwitch]

[Jade rises and smooths out her skirt.] Alright. I'll see if I can't get us there. [She reaches out for Feferi's hand.]

*Feferi takes Jade's hand, and takes a deep breath.* Ready!

[A second later the smell of salty air, although somewhat polluted, and the crash of waves can be heard. Although Jade didn't manage to get them directly on the beach but close enough.]

Oh! *Yep. Feferi's running in that direction until she can see the ocean.* --It's really the ocean! Really really!

*And then her nose wrinkles.* Eww. Why does it smell dirty?

[Jade's right behind her.]

It must be because it's close to the City. [Her nose is wrinkled as well.]

[Jade frowns.] A lot of people don't care about the environment.

Did you not have this kind of problem back home? Do Trolls take care of nature rather than harm it?

Er, I don't know about that.

Maybe it's more that, since the very tip-top of the hemocaste like the troll royalty and the Empress live in the sea, polluting it is a crime punishable by brutal culling.

[dogwitch]

[Jade blinks at her then slowly nods.] I see.

A lot of troll laws are a tiny bit harsh like that, I think. It's one of the things I was going to change when I was Empress! A lot of things needed changing, actually.

*She looks out at the sea and... looks very, very sad for a moment.* But I wonder if changing that law would have meant our seas would become like this one...?

[dogwitch]

[Jade frowns. She doesn't know the answer to that.] Maybe? Maybe not? Maybe if the punishment was still something severe...just not as severe as death.

I don't think humans really have any sort of punishment for this kind of thing. I guess maybe a fine if you're caught but otherwise... [She sighs.]

Oh, that's it! Have the punishment in place, but something different! Maybe you'd just get shipped off Alternia or something!

[dogwitch]

Or some kind of community service?

Maybe they should just clean up whatever they made dirty! ...no, they should clean it up five times over! That'd keep everything super clean!
